ok....so here goes...All day Saturday i was feeling crappy but i went shopping for the last few things i needed for the baby and finally got the car seat that day...walked quite a bit and at around 8 got home and ate dinner... Well my sister lives with me and she had plans for the nite because i wasnt expected to give birth until Tuesday. She got her stuff ready and left while i sat down and watched tv..i started getting crampy but nothing too bad and since everyone says its unbearable pain i just ignored it.. well at around midnight i started timing them because there was a definite beginning and end to these cramps but they weren`t consistent..some were 10 min apart and others 7 min and so forth...well i got kinda nervous that i may b in labor so i went and took a shower, shaved all the parts that needed it...lol..n got dressed just in case...sat back down to watch tv and the little contractions were about 5 minutes apart...had to go to the bathroom as usual and noticed i had discharged some liquid that was brownish...oohhh got super scared and called my doctor... she wanted me to come in for observation because i may have leaked some amniotic fluid but i was screwed cause i didnt really have a ride...well, i decide to drive myself..stupid i know...but the pains werent really all that bad so i left...Well needless to say i got about a mile from my home and was sitting at a red light when i got a contraction..i decided to sit there n let it pass, u know cant really drive while in pain, and as luck would have it a cop passed by n saw me just sitting there at the green light...i mean nobody was on the road it was about 2:30 in the morning...when i saw him i turned and pulled into a mcdonalds just to avoid calling attention but it was too late...well he pulls up behind me n asks me what i was doing stopped in the middle of the road...so i tell him im in labor n im on the way to the hospital...he shines the spotlight on lil' ol' belly n laughs...says he thought i may have been drunk...well while he is chit chatting im hurting n the minutes r passing so i tell him i gotta go if im gonna make it myself n he tells me good luck be careful n off i go...i got to the hospital at about 330 in the morning and went into labor and delivery....i was still feeling pretty good at this time and swore the doc would send me home...well this is when the contractions started getting strong...i got in there n the nurses started checking me u know the drill...but she wasnt sure i had leaked fluid...so while her arm is up my twat past her elbow..hehe...thats what it felt like...n im in the middle of a contraction shes telling me to cough...yea ok..whatever...they observed me for a while and finally admitted me at 6am...by then my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and i was 3 cm dialated and 80 effaced...inbetween contractions i filled out some paperwork and they ordered my epi..which i got at 8 am...by then i was 5 cm dialated and just ready to shoot myself...oh but it was wonderful after the epi...pure bliss...i knocked out like a log since i hadnt slept all nite and woke up at around 12 cause i was being checked...my bundle of joy was born at 126 pm after 45 minutes of pushing...one tini winni tear and all was great after that..the doc had found meconium in the amniotic fluid so just to be safe they kept him for a minute to clear his airway and make sure everything was ok....very uneventful labor...thank goodness..
