Isaac-Daniel`s birthstory

I went in at 7pm wednesday night to start cervadil. I went to sleep around 11 pm that night and was contracting mildly. The nurse came in at 5am to remove the cervadil and start me on pitocin. I was not planning on getting an epidural.. but my mind quickly changed when they broke my water around 8am. There was meconium in the bag, UGH. My contractions were coming about every 15 seconds and they were INTENSE!! I could hardly breathe through them so my mom had the nurse come check me. I WAS ONLY AT 4cm!! I then opted for the epidural and they got it in right away. I instantly felt better.. it was amazing. The rest of my labor was going okay until his heartbeat started to drop. i had to lay on my right side, and they eventually said they had to attach a heartbeat monitor to his head. I was so nervous. They also made me wear an oxygen mask because i had developed a fever and my blood pressure was all out of whack along with his heartbeat still dropping. At this point I was praying for everything to be okay, and i just went to sleep in hope to wake up and everything be better. When i woke up the oxygen had been turned off and the baby`s heartbeat was normal. I had to remain on my right side, and I was dilated to a 7!! After another half hour I was at an 8, then about 20 minutes later a 9, then ten minutes later 9 1/2, and the pressure was horrible! About 5 minutes later the nurse came in and I was at 10.. I was ready to start pushing. With my mom and fiance in the room, we waited until the nurse allowed me to start. I had pushed about 9 times, and Isaac`s heartrate was dropping again. He was posterior, so he was facing the ceiling which makes it even harder to push them out. With all of these things happening, they told me I either had to push him out now, or they would try vacuuming. If that didn`t work, emergency c-section. Well I pushed as HARD as i could and since he was descending they decided to vacuum. They cut me, stuck the vacuum in, I pushed twice and there he was!! He let out a cry, and I was relieved because they said if he didn`t cry when he first came it out it was off to the NICU. He is beautiful and I love him so much. Im so lucky that everything turned out okay in the end.

Mylie-Elyssia`s birthstory

i had sporadic contractions throughout the day.. and around 6:45 they started coming every 5 minutes. at first i thought it was just false labor again, but they actually had a pattern and were getting painful! so we loaded up all of our bags and my son and drove to my dad`s. we stayed there for about an hour to make sure they stayed around, and they did! we said goodbye to our son and headed to the hospital. i was 3 cm when they admitted me and we got put into our room. about an hour later i tried to get the epidural - the anesthesiologist had a hard time putting it in - and the nurse said she would come back in a half hour to put in my catheter and check my cervix. well my contractions were getting stronger and i was getting no relief so i called her back in after 15 minutes. they inserted my catheter and checked me and i was 5 cm.. they said they would call the anesthesiologist to come in and re-do my epidural since it wasn`t working.. well about 10 min. later i was starting to feel pressure and i was at 8 cm. and within 3 minutes of that i was at 10 cm.. so there was no time for another epidural! i could feel her head starting to come down the birth canal and knew i needed to push so the doctor came in and i pushed for about 5 minutes and out came my baby girl! i never thought i would deliver such a big baby (i`m only 5`1) but she was healthy and beautiful and i`m so in love with her!
