Well guys, i was 36 weeks and 4 days on 5th march 2008, 7 am i got out of bed to go to the loo, as soon as i stood up my waters broke! my partner Sam was stood next to me as he was kissing me good bye for work, we couldn't believe it, i wasn't in any pain, although i was experiencing dull like period pain for the previous 24-36 hours, i rang labour ward, told me to go in, so i did, when i got there at 8.20am after i got shower at home, they examined me and said my baby was lying across my stomach in transverse position and i was 3-4cm dilated and that i will have to have emergency c-section!! i couldn't believe it,that was the last thing i wanted,as i really wanted to experience a vaginal delivery. well some 5 half hours later due to some other mothers having to have c-sections that were more needed asap than me i had to wait, which i had to go through the contractions by 1 pm they were every 3 mins and not the easiest of things to go through, i was only on paracetamol,but they soon started to really hurt so midwife put me on gas and air, i didnt ask for anything stronger cos thought that any min now i will go to theatre,well thats what the midwife kept telling me, then around 1.50 pm they took me to theathre room,gave me my spinal injection,which was actually great,didnt feel a thing, they did my c-section, again didnt feel a thing,it was just as if some one was washing up in my belly, my beautiful baby girl Caitlin was born at 14.22,my partner looked over the cover and told me what we had,as we never knew prior,which was a special moment, she had no problems at all with breathing once out, she weighed 6lb 5oz, jet black hair, sam brought her over to me, sat next to me, i was so amazed... there she was, strange to think this little person was in my stomach 5 mins ago.... so yeah thats it really, amazing... i stayed in hosp for 3 nights, everything went good, was in pain from the cut obviously got 15 staples, cant really move very much,very limited,it did really bother me because when she cried i couldnt just sit up,stand up and get her, it wore off on day 2, eased a little, now we are home settling in, its great, we are the proudest parents ever......
