Brianna-Alexis`s birthstory

Starting on March 6th-I went into the hospital and they determined I was in early labor and at 1.5 CM. We came home and I was excited because I really thought things were happening. We went home but nothing seemed to have progressed. Then we went in for an NST on March 12th and Brianna's heart rate was way up. I had been running a fever for a few days and that was affecting the baby-her HR was up to 211 BMP so they admitted me and started antibiotics and fluids. Then throughout the night they packed me in ice until they finally got my fever down and Brianna stabelized-and then sent us home. March 14th-I was leaking really thin fluid-not the mucus that I had been leaking for the past week-so we went into L&D because I wasn't sure if it was my waters or not and I had been having some pretty strong contractions. The nurses in L&D determined that it was not my waters and was just discharge-and when they checked me they said I was closed! I had progressed the wrong way!!! I was so dissapointed when we went home and I thought I would never know when I was in labor since all these crazy contractions and fluid leaking weren't the real thing.

My due date of the 17th came and went with no action. Then on the 20th I was having really strong contractions. They were hard to talk through, I couldn't get comfortable at all, and I couldn't sleep through the contractions. The contractions got really strong and regular around 10PM but I wouldn't go to the hospital. I didn't want to get sent home yet again. So I was up all night and continued to labor like that throughout the next day. Finally by 6PM on the 21st I couldn't take it any longer and went into the hospital. They admitted me right away and said I was in labor! I was thrilled knowing that I wasn't getting sent home again! When they checked me at 6:30 I was at 2cm. I was having really strong contractions lasting about 1.5 minutes and coming every three minutes or so. Finally at 1AM I asked for the epidural because the contractions were just unreal. It took her two tries to get it set right and it was so painful sitting perfectly still but she finally got it correct and I was so relieved! At 4AM they started pitocin because I wasn't dialating that quickly. Even with the help of the doctors stretching me every time they checked I had only progressed to 3.5cm. The doctors decided that it was best for baby to have a c-section because my cervix just would not open up and her heart rate was starting to go up. At 3:17pm on Sunday March 22nd Brianna Alexis came into the world! She weighed 8 pounds 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. Such a beautiful little chubby baby! Daddy went with her into the nursery and then I was able to hold her and feed her while in recovery. She had trouble regulating her temperature and blood sugar level so for the first night they were checking her every three hours-which broke my heart because she got so upset with every heel prick! But she got that all figured out and we were released on Wednesday the 25th. It's been hard recovering from the section and I am still in a lot of pain. Brianna is such a great baby! We haven't had a sleepless night yet! She's eating pretty well, especially since my milk has come in. I am so in love with her and spend many hours every day just staring at her! Being a mother is amazing!!!
