- I now crawl everywhere and have started trying to pull up to things. I am on the verge of having 7 teeth within 3 months.
- I am officially the cutest baby ever and I say dada and other special things that I make up my very own self:)
- Being the cutest baby on the planet:)
* Gabe has started rolling on his own! In the last two weeks he has had a head x-ray and a cat scan to determine whether or not his skull bones are closing too fast. I pray that he is okay.
-- Gabe can do just about everything now! He is running around having a ball chasing the cats and learning to shoot hoops in the basket that Dad got him. He says lots of words like Hi Mom, Hi Dad`, Hi Grandma, Hi Diz (his kitty), look, yes, and many other things that I haven`t quite figured out yet, but that is my problem. Gabe and I are super close and he is the absolute love of my life! He is so special and loving that his dad and I are very lucky to be able to share in his life. He fills us up and I hope that he adjusts well to having a new baby brother or sister. |

Okay, so here is my birthstory finally! November 15 I went for a sonogram like I had been doing every week for the last month because of high blood pressure and gestational diabetes. My amniotic fluid was very low and so I went to the hospital for a non-stress test. The hospital told me that everything was fine, but they didn't communicate everything with my doctor. She called me Friday (November 16) morning and told me that we were being induced that day. I was terrified because my body was just not working. She said that the baby was fine, but that I was advancing toward preeclampsia much faster than she would like and it would be best to deliver because the baby was full term.
I was really afraid of being induced, but I was more afraid of something happening to the baby. We got to the hospital at about 9:00am and they started the Cervadel by 11:00. I started having contractions during the second dose and by the third dose they said that my cervix was finally ready and that they could either start the pitocin that night (it was 11:00pm) or they could give me something to help me sleep and they could start the pitocin early the next morning. I chose to sleep and they came in the next morning and started the pitocin by 5:30am. I was still having contractions from the cervadel and they only got stronger when they started the pitocin. It was really difficult though because they couldn't get a good read on how strong my contractions were and the baby's heart beat kept dropping. By 3:30 in the afternoon I was only dialated to 1 1/2 because they kept having to turn down the pitocin because of the baby's heartbeat dropping. My doctor came in and said that she would would break my water, but I should be prepared to have to do a C section. As soon as she broke my water I started having much stronger contractions with no break in between them! I had wanted to go without an epidural but th contractions were so strong that I finally had to have one by about 6:45. They barely got the epidural done and were still making adjustments to the pain meds when I started needing to push. The baby's heartbeat was dropping so low, but by 7:44pm we had a healthy baby boy that weighed 6lbs 8oz and was 19 inches long. He is absolutely the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. I was so glad that none of my problems affected Gabriel at all. He is perfect and I would not trade him for anything. Aside from him sleeping all day and waking up during the night we are doing just fine. We couldn't be happier!

Thomas-Charles`s birthstory
I woke up with contractions at about 1:30am Monday night and thought that they were just like the ones that I had had before. They ended up lasting throughout the night and were getting pretty hard so I called my doc and woke up DH at about 4:00a. m. The doctor said that since they were about 10 minutes apart that I should wait until they got closer together and then go into the hospital. It turned out that everything stopped at about 7:30 Tuesday morning and so by 11:00 I was still having some contractions, but they weren`t consistent. I went into the doctor`s office to be checked and was dialated to a 3 and very thin so she told us to go for a walk and see if we could get things going again and to wait until the contractions were 5-7 minutes apart to go to the birthing center. So, we walked and walked around the mall and then went home because the contractions were still at about 10-20 minutes apart with no definite pattern. I sat in my chair until about 3:00p.m. and finally went to lay down, still having contractions with no pattern. At 4:30 I told DH that we had to go-- it didn`t matter if the contractions were consistent or not, that the baby was coming. We got to the birth care center and when they checked me I was at 9 centimeters and almost ready to push. My doctor just barely made it into the room as the baby was crowning and by 5:45 p. m. Thomas Charles made his way into the world and it was all over. I had wanted an epidural, but there was absolutely no time and it turns out that natural birth isn`t near as scary or painful as I had thought it would be. We are so happy to welcome Thomas into our family and so far he is just perfect and sweet. His big brother Gabe thinks that he is pretty neat too!
