Raelee-Kelly`s birthstory

I had contractions all day long on Oct 27th after having the "bloody show". I called my midwife and she said to hang it out for a while to see what happens. Well, the contractions would get stronger but they weren't in a pattern. I waited and waited and finally my midwife told me that she would be at the hospital were I would be delievering and if it continued she wanted me to come in so she could exam me. Hours went on. Around 7:00pm my midwfie called again and said that she spoke and he said that if I was having contractions all day then he has no problem with altering my labor. So she wanted me to come in to the hospital to see how "favorable" my cervix was. I went in and my cervix was starting to soften and I was only a very small 1cm dialated. So they gave me cervadile (sp) and oh boy, the contractions really started to come on and were only 2-3 mins apart. The contractions lasted for 90secs at a time also. Well with these contractions the baby's heart rate was dropping from 150 to 80. That made my midwife and nurse concerned. So it was about 2:00am and my midwife told me that I may have to have a c-section. She wanted to talk to the doctor and see what he thought. Sure enough, my midwife returned and I was going for a c-section because they didn't think that the baby would tollerate the labor. I found out I was getting a c-section at 3:30am and by 4:00am my daughter was in this world. She is perfect in soo many ways. I was not expecting a c-section. I was one of those who was going to try it "all" natural. Well Raelee had better plans :-D. The reason why her heart rate was deaccelerating is because she had mecinioum (sp) on her and my placenta had a dead area on it. They are not sure what caused the placenta to do that but that is why her birth weight is so low. Even though it is low, she is healthy in every way. THANK GOD!
