Erianna-Faith`s birthstory

I was scheduled to be induced on Monday October 26th at 8am. I arrived at the hospital Sunday October 25th at 5pm to start the cervical ripening process. By 11am on October 26, I was only dilated to 2cm. They couldn`t really increase the Pitocin because it was making me have too many contractions, and the baby`s heart rate was slightly dropping. They kept the Pitocin coming at a slow rate, but my contractions weren`t strong enough to make me dilate so they broke my water at 11:30am. OMG thats when I started to feel the contractions. After 10 minutes of pain, I requested an epidural!!! After that it was all good! By 4pm I was dilated to 4 cm, and by 8 pm I was dilated to 9!! So all of a sudden the team of doctors and nurses came rushing in to prep the room. I started having some serious pressure in my pelvis and butt area (lol) so the nurse said it was time for me to push. So I started pushing and I didn`t think I was gonna make it!! But after 3 sets of 3 pushes, Erianna Faith entered the world just as beautiful as can be!!!! I got to hold her for about 5 minutes and take lots of pics, then she was whisked away to the NICU to be evaluated. She has been there ever since but they have 24 hour visiting hours so it`s not so bad. The docs said her omphalocele looks more like an umbilical hernia. She is healthy and all of her tests have came back perfect. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and as soon as she is eating well on her own she can go home!

Eric-Douglas-Jr.`s birthstory

On Saturday June 11th I started to get crampy around 9pm. By 1am I was having contractions that were 2-4 min apart lasting 30 seconds to 1 minute. Eric and I were 45 minutes away from home visiting family and didn`t want to drive all the way home, thinking it was false labor and we would be sent back home from the hospital. So I decided to drink some water and lay down. I woke a few times throughout the night and was still having contractions, but I figured I`d wait it out til the morning. At 6:45am I used the restroom and lost a bit of my mucus plug. The contractions were still close together but were getting stronger so I told Eric LETS GO and we drove home as quick as we could. I stopped at home to grab our bags and take a quick shower. After showering I lost the rest of my mucus plug (DISGUSTING!!!). We made it to the hospital at 9am and by then I was dilated to a 4. I got an epidural at 11:30am because the contractions were SUPER strong! At 1:45pm I was at a 6 and they broke my water. By 2:20pm I was at an 8 and by 3pm it was time to PUSH!! I pushed for 15 minutes and at 3:15pm Eric Jr. was born just as cute and healthy as can be!
