Hanna-Mair`s birthstory

Went in Thusday at 7.30pm to get induced. Got cheked and the cervix was very posterier so I had some gel, nothing happend and had a good night sleep. 6.30am friday got cheked again and nothing had happend so they gave me double the dose of gel. At 8.45 started having very slight back ache that lasted around a min every 5mins, I went for a bath and the pain steadily got a bit worse but I was able to talk throgh them ok. Around 11.30 I was a bit sick and from then on I was having bad contractions but the midwife wouldnt check me because she didnt think anything was happening down there. I was made to lie down on my back at 12.30 pm to be moniterd . I hated this because I was having bad contractions and was given nothing for the pain because the midwife was waiting till 1.10pm to check if I was dilating, (I could have strangled her at this point. At 12.55 anouther midwife came to me with gas and air 9I could have kissed her, shes my friend for life). At 1 My watter broke I was now having 2 contractions on top of each other and a 2 min break then before the next 2 came. They eventually cheked me and I was 5cm dilated and was made to walk all the way to the delivery room inbetween contractions. When I got to the delivery room the midwifes had a change over so I had a nice midwife from then on. I still had to be moniterd because babys heartrate kept droping with every contraction and eventually they had to insert a heartmoniter onto her head to make sure she was ok. I asked for pethadine for the pain but wasnt able to have any because her heartrate so I had to cope with gas and air. Around 3pm I started feeling the urge to push during contractions but was told not to untill they could check how dilated I was. I was cheked and I was 10cm and ready to push. The urge to push was amazing and I didnt feel pain whilst I was pushing and that was withought gas and air. I was moved to push an my knees and I could feel her coming out. It stung when her head was coming but I pushed through the pain and within minutes she was deliverd and all the pain was gone and forgotten.She was born at 4.10pm.My hubby cut the cord and she was handed to him while I turned back round to lie down and she was given to me. They then spent over an hour stiching me up since she had ripped me bad due to hand beeing deliverd with her head. I have to addmit I think this part was worse than labour itself. After finishing the stiching I went to the bath and moved to the ward where I was all alone with me baby and hubby. I came home at 1pm sat. The stitches dont hurt to bad, mutch better than I had imagined it would be. I am in love with my little baby girl and found new love for my hubby.
