Corey-John-Ryan-Elliott`s birthstory

I was Taken to Hospital on the 23rd of April (Wednesday). Spent the night at the hospital after labour was coming and going. The doctor sent me for an ultrasound the next day, Thursday.
Upon returning to my room, the nurse came in and asked if I was ready to go home and I said no, I was waiting for the results as the person that performed the ultrasound rang my doctor. The nurse rang my doctor and told me that I was to be transferred to a different hospital as I was dilated and the hospital I was in could not handle such a young baby, I was 31w3ds.
So I got transferred to KEMH (King Edward Memorial Hospital), the specialist hospital. The rushed me in an ambulance, after being there for about 5 hours the doctor did an ultrasound and found that Corey was a complete breech, in other words bum first!
Not much happened over the next 3 days, in and out of labour but they said nothing was really happening. Then on Sunday, the 27th came the change, once again I was in labour, but about 1pm maybe a little later, I was feeling really bad, I was having hot and cold flushes and I couldn`t handle the heat I was trying to go for a shower but every time I got out of bed I felt like being sick, I finally went to the toilet where to my shock my water broke everywhere, I didn`t know what to do and I started to panic. I pushed the button for the nurse and thankfully one came running, she helped me back to my bed and called my midwife. Then once again came the labour. The nurse hooked me up to a machine to monitor Corey`s heartbeat and to monitor the contractions. My nurse after 5 minutes transferred me to the labour and delivery department.
Upon getting there there told me that I had a choice vaginal delivery or c-section, given that Corey was breech, I didn`t want to chance it so I said the c-section. Then they gave me something to stop the contractions and the waiting game begun again!
Finally I was taken upstairs to operating rooms. I was scared of getting the epidural but it didn`t hurt. The first 2 needles felt like scratches then I didn`t feel I thing. Finally I was taken in for the operation, I was nervous but excited!
Through the whole operation I was just waiting to hear a cry, finally I heard something, wasn`t a cry but I know it was my boy and one of the nurses appeared and said congratulations he is a boy!
As they were wheeling Corey out of the room they pushed him as close as they could to me and I was able to see the back of his head. Lee went with Corey.
Finally the operation was over and into recovery and soon out of there, back down to the ward. Lee, my MIL and my SIL where all waiting for me to get back, they told me how gorgeous Corey is and that he is doing well. The left and the nurse told me that she was going to get me a photo of Corey and when I woke up in the morning she was bringing the photo in. It broke my heart he was connected to a machine the called CPAC, it was helping him breath. But my lil man ended up not needing help and they took the machine off him on the 28th. The next few days seem to fly as Corey was doing so well and I found out I had 2 infections and was put on all different antibiotics.

I came home from hospital last night the 7th of May, but Corey is still there. Hopefully he will be well enough to transfer to a closer hospital next week, I`ll be back in hospital with him but atleast it will only be 5 mins from home, not 45 mins. I so can not wait!
