Matthew`s birthstory

My blood pressure was too high so my doctor decided to induce me. On May 5, 2008 at 1pm I was induced. Nothing happened!!! So at 11pm that night they took me off of the medicine that was suppose to induce me and let me eat. Then they started it up again at 5am on May 6th. Again nothing happened. So at about 9 am my doctor came in and broke my water. There was a student nurse in the room during this time. It was her first day! She saw a C-Section right before this. Once my water was broke everything took off. An hour or two later I was in so much pain that they gave me pain medicine through the IV, but it didn`t do a whole lot. I then requested an epidural. The doctor that came to give it to me was a jerk and poked me 5 times. He finally got the epidural in but it was in the wrong spot. I went through most of my labor without pain relief. The nurses paged someone else to come and figure out what went wrong with my epidural. That is when he told us that it was placed in the wrong spot. He asked me if I wanted another one or he could do a spinal block. The spinal block would for sure work, but it would only last 2 hours. The nurses checked me and I was dilated 8 cm. They said that I would probably give birth before 2 hours. So I got the spinal block. It was instant relief. I slept for an hour and woke up and knew it was time to push. I pushed for an hour and then Matthew was born!
