Avalyn-Rose`s birthstory
My water broke after a night of insomnia at 7:30 in the morning, just as I was trying to fall asleep. I felt her push down and then a pin prick feeling...and then I was wet...I stood up...um niagra falls wet! Got to the hospital and was checked in by 9 am. They had to give me pitocin to bring my contractions quicker since they didnt want to risk infection. I tried to work through them with no pain killer for four hours. But they just kept getting stronger and more intense. I decided not to be superwoman and take the epidural. The needle going in was scary, but oh was it worth it in the end!!!! I couldnt even lift my legs or feel them, coundnt feel the contractions at all..it was interesting to see them on the screen getting more intense and not feel a thing. about 10 hours into labor I felt alot of pressure on my tail bone. The nurses looked and said I was fully effaced, and dialated and she was in the birth canal already, only about two inches to go and she would be out..so they had me push for 1 and half hours...the baby was looking up which makes it harder to get her out...the last push I was grabbing the bars on the bed, and feeling like I was pushing a bowling ball out my anus...heh...I pushed so hard, and felt her head come halfway out..the doctor wasnt ready yet and told me to stop...ha! yeah right, I couldnt...out came her head, and another small push her body came out...it was such a relief. They put her on my belly and she looked right at me! I started crying. She is so precious! I couldnt believe that we made her! heck i was crying when they told me she was close to being born...i got scared and emotional...hehe. I thought the aftermath of labor was a lot worse than the labor itself (thanks to the epidural). they had only put an ice pack on me since i ripped a bit...they held it on with this fish net type underware...when i got to the room i felt the need to relieve myself, so i stood up, and all this blood started coming out....ladies, all i can say is make sure they put a little more on your bottom after you have your little one...I felt so bad, but they said it happens...the room looked like something out of a horror film...heh..I am still sore and not quite right, but getting better....It was a great experience, and we are so happy!!!!
