Sadly my beautiful boy was born at 21+5 due to having severe heart defects.
I was induced on 7th august 09 and after around 6 hours of labour Finley was born. We spent several hours with him that night and again the next day before having to leave him.
We miss him very much and will always remember our first born child with both love and sadness for what should have been.
Love you to the stars and back ♥♥

Logan Sex: boy Born: 06 July, 2010 Age: 1 years & 225 days Birthday in: 140 days Starsign: Cancer Development: See the 19 months page. Biggest achievement so far: - |
I was induced on Monday 5th July due to having gestational diabetes.
On monday evening I started getting some light contractions but after having some paracetamol and going to bed for the night they went. Woke up tuesday morning and they came back, the nurse checked me and I was 2-3 cm dilated so she called labour ward and they said they would come and get me when they had a bed so me and DF went walking round the hospital for a while. At about 1pm they came for me and we went across to the delivery room. We were sent out to walk again and when I got back they decided to break my waters. This was easier said than done, lol. It took 3 attempts and 3 different people! They finally broke them around 6pm, I had been rocking on a gym ball and started using the gas and air after they broke them as the contractions got more intense. I stayed on the ball until I decided I wanted pethidine and then moved onto the bed. This was about 7pm and I was 5cm. After about 1 and a half hours the contractions got really bad and I remember thinking to myself 'I need an epidural, I need an epidural' lol. All of a sudden I could feel my body pushing and the midwife kept telling me not to push and I kept telling her I wasn't, that my body was doing it automatically. So she checked me and said I was fully dilated and to get pushing. Logan was born at 9.15pm after about 30 minutes of pushing. He weighed 8lb 1oz. He did a bit of damage on the way out and I had a 2nd degree tear so needed quite a few stitches!
We were moved onto the transitional care ward because of the GD. I tried to breastfeed Logan but he wasn't getting enough and his blood sugars kept dropping and they told me they would have to take him to special care if we didn't get some formula in him. Of course I said yes! I kept trying to feed him but it just wasn't working and I didn't want him to get ill from the hypo's he kept having so I am now bottle feeding him.
We were finally discharged on the thursday and I got to bring my gorgeous baby home.
