Kasjhia`s birthstory
Saturday at about 11:40PM my water broke and i started having contractions. They remained constant at 10 minutes apart so I let everyone sleep and labored alone through the night. By about 7AM they had gotten to 8 minutes apart. My hubby and I hung in there together at home until noon. My neice stayed with the kids and we headed to the hospital where the whole entourage met us (my mom and his mom and my best friend and two other friends). I was soaking wet when I got there because more fluid leaked during the ride. I was checked and at 4cm, 90% effaced and contractions were clocked at 7 minutes apart. The contractions continued and were very strong and varied between 3 and 7 minutes. Ultimately I dialated to 7cm and 100% effaced. By 7PM after 19 hours in active labor the doctor wanted to do a c-section because I had been without my water bag for so long. I was tired but still determined and wanted to avoid the surgery. She said that the baby was tired and that pitocin may help. The nurse started the pitocin and moved it up to the highest level possible within 20 minutes. I knew they were serious then because that`s fast for that much medication. I was having terrible convulsions but still wanted to keep going. After a few more hours the baby`s heartrate was not regular enough and i did not dialate at all anymore. The doctor said the c-section was necessary and gave me a few minutes to spiritually gather myself. I cried a few tears and surrendered myself to the surgery. All went well and she arrived at 11:52PM without further incident. She is a doll and nursed right away!!! Despite my outcome I am very proud of myself and my support team. We were all so tired but are doing great these days!
