I woke up at 11:30 in the morning with a gush of fluid...now my water broke 2 weeks ago at my baby shower so I figured this was another false alarm. So I went back to sleep for another hour and woke up and went to the washroom. Well needless to say I was getting some menstrual cramping and decided I should call the birthing unit to see if I should come in or not...I didnt want to be one of those mothers who rushed into the hospital for every little twinge of pain they felt!
My boyfriend thank God came home at 2:30 in the afternoon and I filled him in and we went up to the hospital. The nurses put me on the baby monitor and did a stress test. They werent very sure if I was in my very early stages of labour so they said they would keep me under observation for an hour and then let me go home.
WELLLL!!! my contractions were about 10 minutes apart when I went to the hospital by the time the hour was up they were down to 6-7 minutes apart. The nurses finally decided that yes i was in labour and said she was going for her dinner break and would admit me to the hospital after she got back well when she got back an hour later the contracions were 3 minutes apart...then a half hour later 1-2 minutes apart...my little guy was coming and quick!!! The nurse decided to move me down to the birthing room and I kept getting off the delivery bed to try and go to the washroom. the nurse asked me if I was pushing in there and I totally was cause I didnt want to go #2 but she informed me that it wasnt #2 but low and behold the baby about to come!!
So after the contraction was over I was to get on the birth table and begin pushing!!! ohmigosh the pain was freakin unbearable I was crying to God to help me!!! there was no time for any pain medications and believe me I was not happy about that at the time!! but never the less about 5 pushes and my beautiful baby boy made his exit and entrance into the world!!!! He was 5 pounds 3 ounces and the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life!! lucky me that this angel chose to be his Mummy I hope I can do the job to the best of ability and one day he will feel about me the way I feel about my Mum!
