i was 3 cm dialated for about 3 weeks and at +1(yes i said +1!) i woke up at 4:45am from a weird dream with crazy hard contractions. i woke up my husband and told him it was time,to which he responds "im gonna take a shower" i was all "uh...NO! im having a baby!" i called my mom to drive us since he had totalled our car a few weeks prior! the whole ride over my mom kept yelling "i wish this car would go faster! DONT PUSH!" we got to the hospital and they checked me i was 8-9cm my water broke and i said "shes coming now" the doc shouts "WAIT, LEMME GET MY GLOVES ON!" she came at 5:45am...so an hour from the time i woke up to the time she was born...not bad if i do say so myself.

i was induced with benny at 39 weeks due to preeclampsia. i was admitted at around 5pm on july 20th. i was dialated to 2 but not contracting so they gave me pitocin thruout the night...i still wasnt feeling contractions but apparently it was helping cuz i had dialated to 4 when they checked me at around noon. thats when they broke my water and called for the epidural. those contractions before the meds kicked in, i felt...OUCH! well as soon as the needle was in i had to push, epidural didnt have time to take full effect but what it did do was AMAZING! i pushed and the boy shot out like a cannon! the doctor almost dropped him cuz he went from crowning to out in a flash...no pause for the shoulders or anything. needless to say, that caused some pretty fun tearing (of course on the side that the epidural didnt work on) but it was really an easy delivery. i healed pretty quickly. cant complain

I went to the hospital on tuesday night (could have been wed morning actually) cuz i had a little blood when i went to the bathroom and it kinda freaked me out so i called my mom to take me so that my hubby could stay asleep and watch the kids cuz i was sure they would just send me home (i wasnt having any strong contractions). well when i got there sure enough she said that the blood was nothing but i was having contractions every 3-5 min even though i couldnt feel them. but since i was 4 cm dilated they decided to admit me and they broke my water at 3:45am to get labor started and that usually is all it takes for me. i called for my epidural about an hour later which was fabulous!!! at 6 my nurse called for the midwife who came in and asked if i could feel the contractions well enough to push. i said i cant feel anything but if you tell me when i could probably push. so she said try a little one right now. and i smiled and gave a little push. she said wow, that worked. and the nurse laughed at the fact that i was smiling. i started to laugh too and the baby just kinda fell out. it was the easiest thing i have ever done!!! it litterally took me 4 seconds to have a baby! and to make it even better, i didnt tear or anything! yahoo!!!

I took a shower on monday night (25th) and i noticed blood running down my leg, since i was showering i couldnt tell how much blood it was or how long i had been bleeding etc. so I called the hospital and they told me to go ahead and come get evaluated. I wasnt contracting and I was pretty sure it wasnt a big deal so I waited until my dad got off work so he could stay with my kids while hubby and i went to the hospital. We left home around 930pm and made a quick stop at Home Depot to pick up the rest of our carpeting (haha, obviously i wasnt too concerned about the bleeding) we arrived at the hospital a little after 10 and a nurse checked me and said i was dilated to 5cm and they hooked me up to the monitors and found i was contracting every 3 mins or so, but they werent strong at all, i knew it wasnt labor. but they decided to admit me and they hooked me up to the IV and gave me fluids, after an hour, they checked me and the contractions had totally stopped, i guess i was dehydrated which was causing me to contract. The midwife decided to send me home. I was of course upset because i thought that once they admitted me i wouldnt be going home without a baby. my nurse was awesome however and pleaded with the midwife to let me stay another hour to see if i would dilate any further. I didnt. but i did start to contract again. so around 3 my nurse came in and told me they were gonna send me home or i could walk around the hospital for an hour and that would be my last chance. i figured i had already wasted a few hours of my life so what was one more. I walked around for about 10 minutes before I felt contractions start coming on stronger and very close together. after a half hour i knew that I had progressed and this was true labor and they could not send me home now, i also knew that at that stage of labor, i always go very quickly so i needed to get back to my room and get the epidural or i wouldnt have time. i called the nurse and she checked me, i was 7cm and she ran to get the anesthesiologist. after the meds were in my system i was much happier and i told the nurse she should get the midwife cuz it was gonna be quick. sure enough, at 6:05 am i was fully dilated and ready to push, my mini epidural had mostly worn off but i didnt want to top it off if i was just about to push out the baby so i just pushed her out instead. i could definitely feel the `ring of fire` that i had heard about before but never experienced....yup, it hurt really bad, but it only took one push and out she came at 610. she was so much smaller than i expected and she doesnt look at all like my other kids- so funny
