Bryson-Garrett`s birthstory

I went to Michaels with my son around noon and soon as we got there my water broke. I bought what I needed real quick and left. I called my hubby on the way home to tell him that my water broke. He left work. I went home and my MIL came over to wait on him with me. She stayed to watch my son while we left for the hospital. I checked in and they confirmed that my water had in fact broken. They checked me and I was 3 cm and 70%. It was about 2 hours after my water had broke by this point. They admitted me, when they midwife came to see me she reommended that they start pitocin. It had been close to 3 hours by that point and even though my water had broken and I was having contractions about eery 3 minutes, I had yet to start active labor so she wanted to get it rolling. I agreed and they started the pitocin about 4 or 4:30pm. I tolerated labor ok for about an hour after that but after the pitocin the contractions just started up one right after the other, I couldnt breathe throught them and I couldnt walk around. The nurse checked me and said I was 4cm and 80%. I was frusterated at the progress and figured it would still be a long labor so I went ahead and opted for an epidural. They got that going and it was great. I could still feel pressure from the contractions but no pain. About 3 hours later the midwife checked me again and said I was 5cm. I couldnt believe how slow it was going. They tried to place an internal monitor so they could cut the pitocin up more but they couldnt. Less than an hour later though I started to feel pain again like the epi was wearing off. She called the anisthesiologist back to give me a boost. Im glad I called him when I did. He asked how dialted I was and the nurse said 5cm she they had just recently checked me. He gave me a little more juice in the epi but it still didnt work I could still feel pain. He kept working at it but all of a sudden it felt like the baby was just coming out. I told hubby that I could feel him so low it felt like he was coming out. He told the nurse and she said she would check me again. I am now glad it wore off a bit so I could feel that cause when she checked me she said I was 9cm. With that info they were able to give me more epi meds and it started working again, but before she even pulled her hand out she said oh no now youre 10cm! I started pushing with the nurse, the midwife came in and less than 30 minutes of pushing later he was here! I went from 5cm to him being born in less than an hour! I couldnt have asked for a better birth and hes beautiful. Im so in love!!!
