Sorry for the delay but here is my birth story!
My labour started the weekend before Isabelle was born, so for 3 days we were waiting and waiting for something to happen but she decided to stay put.
My waters broke the day before her Due Date, my hubby and I went to the hospital to be checked over. There they confirmed that my back waters had gone and that I would need to be booked in to be induced in 2 days time should I not start labouring myself. So we went home and waited!!
Still waiting the next day I decided that I felt fine and that I would have a game of tennis on the WII! Well that broke all my other waters and within half an hour I had contractions coming every 2 minutes! I rang my hubby to come home from work and then we went straight to the hospital where they said that I was 3cms dilated and that I wasn't going home without my baby this time!
All throughout my pregnancy I said I just wanted gas and air but within 15 minutes of being in the hospital i had been given pethedine, because the baby was lying back to back with me, I was having back labour and my god, does it hurt!!
After 4 hours, the midwife checked me over, only to be told that I had only dilated a further 1 cm so I still only 4cms dilated!! I was in so much pain (the pethidine had made me sick a few times) so I talked it through (well told my husband) that I would be having an epidural! So glad I did as 4 hours later I was fully dilated and ready to start pushing!
I pushed for 1 and a half hours and then at 4.15am my gorgeous girl Isabelle Sophie Glynn was born, weighing 8lbs 10oz (not the 7lbs they had told me)! I tore from front to back so had to be stitched up, which I have to say was the most unpleasant part about the whole experience.
Issy and I stayed in hospital till the following day and then we came home. It's true what they say about labour,at the time i didn't think i would be able to do it, but I did and i've forgotten just how painful it was and would do it again tomorrow!!
