Phoebe-Jae-Elizabeth-`s birthstory

On Monday, April 7, 2008: I was scheduled for induction. We arrived at the hospital for 7:30. I was still only a fingertip dialated and 60% effaced. The midwife ruptured my membranes at 8:30am and started the pitocin drip. I labored until 9pm before asking for the epidural. Through 12 hours of induction, I only dialated 3cm and effaced 100%. Phoebe only came down to -1 station. We decided on the epidural..... thinking I might dialate if I was relaxed. No such luck. At 10pm I was prepared for my c-section. At 10:53 Phoebe was born. She had gotten her head stuck in a funny position and that is why I never dialated past 3cm.
The induced labor was intense! I cried with every rolling contraction. Adam was great through it all. He stood by my side in the OR and even watched our beautiful daughter being born. I would relive every minute again to have her here.
