Maggie-Elizabeth-McCoy`s birthstory

Maggie was scheduled to arrive on the 24th, but she had other plans. During my NST on the 22nd I was having some really strong contractions. My little girl was normally quite feisty through the contractions, but it seems like all the contractions for weeks on end were getting to her and there were some decelerations in her heart rate. It happened a few times and my doctor decided better to deliver now than wait a few days. That was at 10:45 am and they told me I was having my c-section at 12 pm.

Of course there was a paperwork snafu at the hospital - they lost my blood type - so things were delayed an hour, but at 1:39 pm, little Maggie made her debut to the world. My doctor had been worried about her size and her health, so I was thrilled to hear how happy she was when she said `It`s a girl, she looks beautiful, she`s biting my finger. Oh, she`s peeing everywhere, that means she`s healthy.` Then, we got to hear her cry. It was the best sound I`ve ever heard in my life. My boyfriend and I both cried and the doctor peeked the baby over the surgery curtain and I got to see my little girl.

Since then I am still in constant amazement at how well she`s doing. NICU was totally uninterested in her because she was so healthy. I feel so lucky and blessed.

Now I just need to get the hang of this breast feeding and not sleeping!

Thanks to everyone for all your support through this pregnancy. I could not have made it without this site and everyone on it!
