Ashton`s birthstory

After a day of early labour contractions on the 30th, i was woken at 4:30am on the 31st with the start of real contractions. I was planning on a home birth so waited until 7am when i rang for the midwife. She arrived and after checking me, i was only just 3 cm. My mum came to pick up my eldest son and i got the tens machine on. I carried on pottering around the house until 12ish when the pain started getting worse, so we ran a bath. I laboured in the bath with gas and air for an hour and when i got out and was checked again, I was 6cm. The midwife broke my waters and then the real pain started-within half an hour or so i was feeling like i wanted to push. After three pushes, my beautiful baby boy was born at 14:01 weighing 9lbs. I didn`t have to have any stitches and was able to see in the new year with my husband and 2 beautiful boys at home-Perfect!!
