Zac`s birthstory
Well Well Well... I cant believe I`m writing the birth story lol. And what a birth it was!!!
Went up to visit my boyfriends mum Thursday 19th June. Sat with her drinking tea for a while and realised I was having contractions every 5 minutes or so but they weren`t strong and didn`t last very long so didn`t think much of it. Left her house about an hour later and the contractions were about half hour apart. We all sat down to watch Eastenders and as soon as that finished my waters broke. I rushed to the toilet just to make sure I hadnt peed myself and sure enough, my waters had broke. By this time my partner and my youngest daughter were having a panic attack and once they had calmed down, I got all my last minute bits and pieces together. We drove to the Birth Centre at about 8.30pm and parked the car in the massive car park where my waters broke AGAIN but this time I think I flooded half of the car park. Women were coming up to me saying `Ohhhh congratulations and good luck` ..... HOW EMBARASSING!!!!!! lol!
Once we got to the birthcentre, the midwife put me on the monitor. The babys heart rate dropped from 154 beats per minute to 70 beats per minute. I S**t myself!! She explained that as there were no doctors at the centre, I would have to be transferred to another hospital by ambulance as I was going to need an emergency c-section. About 40 minutes later, the ambulance arrived and rushed me to the hospital where there were about 3500 doctors and midwives waiting for me. They put me on the monitor and guess what.... the babys heart was fine. They explained that I might still need a c-section as my contractions were every 5 minutes and REAL strong but I was only 3 - 4 cm dilated. Half an hour later I was examined again and was dilated to 7cm! WOOHOO!!! The midwives kept telling me not to push as I wasn`t ready but I knew I was ready as it`s my body and my son was screaming to get out. So I pushed, and out came his head. Waiting for the next contraction felt like ages so I fell asleep lol as he next contraction didn`t come so the midwives had to squeeze the hell out of my stomach to bring it on. I woke up then, waited for that contraction which definatley came and pushed and out came the rest of his tiny little gorgeous body!!! What an amazing feeling it is to finally hold your little bundle for real after carrying him for so long. I will definatley be doing it again! Much love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
