LOOOONGEST STORY EVER....

Thursday 21st August.
INDUCTION DATE NUMBER 1!
I went in to the hospital with Andy at 8 am like i was told to... I got booked in and settled in a bed and all that and the midwife came along hooked me up to a machine and got monitoreing me and the baby, it was all going okay untill he doctors came down and announced `were too busy today youll ahve to go home` n just sent me on my merry way, very upset and very annoyed. I was told to come back on Friday and that was that

Friday 22nd August
INDUCTION DATE NUMBER 2!
AGAIN i arrived at the hospital at 8 am and got put in the exact same bed. There was only me and anotyher lady in the ward that day so i was told id be started off that day.
I waited for the midwives to come and hook me up to the monitor etc and do my blood pressure etc.
It took till 10 for them to FINALLY decide to leave the desk and come sort me out which i wasnt happy about but eventually we were on the way.
At 11:30 the doctor came down and gave me the pep talk and inserted the prostin tablet. i had to keep laying down for another 30 minutes ont he monior n then i was told to walk about for an hour n come back for the baby to be listend to.
so me and Andy went on a wander of the hospital like good little children got some lunch n went back tot he ward
NOTHING
so again we were sent on an hour long walk
we did
we returned
NOTHING
so the midwife said to go out for a few hours and return no later than half 4 so we decided to be naughty and escape in to town for a bit, so we walked in to town walked in to the pub we went on our 1st date too lol had a drink and a wee and then wandered round the town center for a good few hours and then walked back to the hospital
the doctor came down and examined me again and i hadnt dilated or anything so she inserted tablet number 2!
The same rigmarale of walking abouit and monitoring continues to about 8 pm when i was so tired i just had to stop so Andy n i ate some tea and watched the telly untill about half 9 when he was sent home by the midives and i went to bed.

Saturday 23rd
INDUCTION DATE THE THIRD
Andy arrived at the hospital at about 9:30 and i was hooked on to my monitoring machine still with n contractions and a very lazy baby who was having none of it, so down came the doctor and put tablet number 3 in to my bits, at this point i was vry fed up and annoyed but followed my orders and me and andy spent the HOLE day walking around Warrington hospital and returning to be monitored every hour or so.
I waited ALL day for the doctor to return but she never did so i was not aware if i was dilating or anything... (just a hint... i wasnt lol)

Sunday 24th
I was told `this is your rest day` i wasnt given any monitoring or any prostin at all and spent most of the day waiting for the doctor who i was told was coming down eventually... but she didnt. so me and andy wandered around the hospital again trying t kick start our baby in to some action lol

Monday 25th
At about 10:30 the doctor came down and sat with me and discussed my options...
he said that i could have a section to deliver her but it wouldnt be till wednesday and iwasnt allowed home till then
or i could have prostin number 4 and get my waters broken later on that day (as long as it wasnt too busy) n if that didnt work have an emergnecy section that night, i opeted after some thinking for the 4th prostin and we got going with the wholeeee walking around monitoring thing again
at 3 oclock andys mum and sister came to see us and i was getting a few slight pains (finally) they didnt hurt hurt but the were not comfy AT ALL.
All of a sudden the midwife came over and said get ur stuff your going up. me and andy were terrified but excited we got my baghs and tootled off up to delivery where i was plugged on to a machine and began my monitoreding the pains were still coming but wernt regular and went strong enough to be classed as contractions but i didnt like them so i asked for some paracetamol i took them n then the doc came in checked my cervix which was 1cm lol (finally) and he said ooo i might be able to break the water so he tried and tried and tried and eventually broke my waters... which HURT and was uncomfy. As soon as the waters went the pain came on thick and fast
contractions for over aintue and only 2 minutes apart, it was so painful i had to get an epidural fit straight away even tho i wasn only 1-2 cm dilated when the epidural was fit the pains ceased and i was soooo relieved, i got the hormone drip to help contractions come along etc n i had a good old chat to the midwifwe and sent andy home to go and get some tea
at 9 pm the doctor came in and checked me over and i was FINALLY in `established labour` as i was 4-5 cm already which is pretty good in 3 hours apparently.
i watched some telly talked to the midwives and when andy got back oplayed some stupid games with him, untill half 11 when the epidural stoperd working on my left hand side. my GOD did that hurt!!!
the midwives topped it up and thankfully it went back to working properly.
unfortunatly there was a problem with little baby as her heart rate droped AFTER a contraction instead of during it, so the doctors ahd to check her blood oxygen levels
so he got this odd contraption out and started taking blood samples from her head while she was still inside me not very dignified i must add
this had to happen 2 times between 11pm and 1 am but luckily evrything was okay even tho the stupid doctor didnt actually know hjow to get teh samples so i had 6 ppl gazing upmy private parts at one point,.

at 1:30 the doctor checked me over and i was 10 cm but was told not to start pushing for an hour 9i didnt feel the urge as i had the epidural) at 2 oclock he came back to check me and apparently the babys ehad was VERY low down n traveling down on its own lol so the midwives said at 2:20 i could start pushing,
At this point the epidural had begun to wear off again but only att he top of my bump on my left side and it only felt like a stitch so i could tell i was having a contraction so i knew when to push

After 30 minutes of pushing babyshead started coming out, it didnt hurt but it wasnt pain free either and after 10 more minutes my little baby was born, covered in slime and poo coz the little madame had a poopy in me lol. I was laying tehre wondering whys my baby not crying whys my baby not crying and all of a sudden all these alarms started going off, they got her chord n told andy to cut the cord fast and to tell me what wed got n he announced she wsas a girl n then she was taken asway from me and put on a table to get some oxygen as she wasnt breathing...

they put the clock on and as the minutes went up highter and higher i got more worked up n sad. Andy was running from the baby to me to the baby to me trying to see which one needed him more lol eventually she started breathing properly after what seemed like an eternity but was only 8 minutes and 14 seconds lol and we were allowed to give her a cuddle It was the best thing ever!
~After the longest induction i finally had my baby and she was perect after that inital scary start.
we decided to call her Amy as andy likes the name and felicity after my friends little sister who sadly passed away befre Amy got here,

so there we have it the most garbled and dodgy birth story EVER hehe xxxx

Anna-Elizabeth`s birthstory

we went in to hospital at 2am with strong contractions but were told that baby wasnt in established labour but i was allowed to stay as contractinos were strong and picking up on the monitors. i went for a hot bath to try and relieve the pains but it just made it worse then went in to a delivery room.

i started to use gas and air to help with the pain of contractions as they were getting really REALLY painful by then and my midwives suggested morphene so i had a shot of that which took the edge of it all but still hurt.

at 6 cm i was given an epidural but it didnt work, after an hour it just stopped i asked them to top it up but they checked me and i was almost 10cm and ready to push. so i had to do all the end on my own. went from okayish pain to full on agony.

once she was born andy told me what we had got and then she was rushed off to help get her breathing. we had to go through the awful wait again to see what was happening and if my baby would be okay. luckily she was and we got to hold her and have skin to skin and our first feed.

she took to breast feeding like a pro i am so proud of her as is her daddy
