So here is my birth story finally. Hubby and I arrived at the hospital at 5:30am for out scheduled csection at 7:30am on Thurs. July 9th. I really wasnt nervous, yet. The nurse came in to place an i.v. in my hand, and while she was doing that, another lady came in for me to sign a bunch of paperwork. I was multitasking, b/c they were placing the i.v. in my left hand and I was signing papers with my right hand! They were impressed by that, b/c most women cringe with the i.v's being placed. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, plus it was speeding things up! Then they asked me a bunch of medical questions. The nurses were done with me within an hour, so hubby and I had to sit in the room for an hour before going to the o.r. The anesthesiologist did come in and explain to us what he would be doing in the o.r. As time got closer, i started getting more and more nervous! Then at about 7:20, a surgical nurse came in and asked if we were ready, b/c the dr. had arrived. I said as ready as i will ever be. So we took the long walk to the o.r., and hubby had to sit out so that i could go in and have the spinal placed. The anesthesiologist kept telling me what he was going to do before he did it and kept asking me if I was okay and comfortable and warm enough. He was sooo nice! After that, hubby came in and they laid me down and strapped my arms, put in the oxygen tube in my nose, and draped the blue cover. Then they were telling me they were placing the catheder. My dr. came in, and she seemed excited. Then they start and I feel the tugging and pulling, and a few minutes later, I hear my dr. talking to my baby before she is born. She said "Aww, baby girl, your trying to cry before your born", it was so cute. Then she came out, born at 7:50am, and 7lbs 2oz, and seconds later I hear her cry. I started crying. They showed her to me before taking her to clean her up, and hubby followed her to take pics. Then they were doing my tubal, and I just kept hearing my baby cry, the most beautiful sound! My hubby came back over to me and I told him that I couldnt wait to hold her! I felt really good the entire time of my csection. It was a much better experience than my last csection! While they were sewing me up, hubby got lightheaded and had to go sit on the floor. He kept looking over the drape, and I told him to stop but he wouldnt listen to me! At least he didnt pass out! Then they were done and took me to recovery. I got to hold my baby girl right away. She was being fussy before they put her in my arms, and as soon as I took her and started talking to her, she stopped crying immediately. It was amazing b/c you could tell that she recognized my voice. I also got to nurse her and she took to it right away. No problems there. After an hour in recovery, then they took me to my postpartum room, where I spent the next 4 days. During that time i got a horrible allergic reaction to the tape they placed on my belly, so that was a nightmare. Other then that, all else went well. I have to say again that my anesthesiologist was the best! He was talking to me the entire time of my csection, telling me what was going on, and making sure i was comfortable. My dr., you can tell she just loves her job! And the nurses were great too. The pain after a csection isnt fun, but its all worth it! I luv my baby girl, Jordyn.
