Cruz`s birthstory
Well, the caesar was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was a bit nervous going in, but not that nervous or stressed out. I got to the hospital at 2h30pm and booked in to maternity. They put the catheter in and a drip, I wanted it when they did the epidural but they said that the Dr wanted me prepared by the time I got to the OR. The catheter was not that bad and I did not know you could shove anything that long or wide up your pee hole, that was really weird. I was taken to the OR at about 5h00pm and then the anaesthetist did her stuff, the epidural needle was not that painful, I think the drip was more painful. They then proceeded with the caesar.
It was really awkward, not painful, but I could feel them slicing me open, and then I could feel the pressure of them pulling and tugging on my skin. No pain though, just kind of weird and within 5 minutes at 17h22 , my little man was born, screaming his healthy lungs off. Dad took photo`s and they went to maternity and left me there to get `Fixed` and stitched up.
I was all done at about 18h00 and was wheeled back to maternity to recover.
Cruz`s temperature was a bit low, so he had to stay in the incubator for about 3 hours after he was born, so he was screaming all that time and I could hear him but couldnt do anything about it. Neil was standing next to him all the time though. They only bathed him at about 21h00 and then they brought him to me.
He is as beautiful as can be, looks just like his dad and a little like me. But he is the sweetest little thing ever. He only cries when he`s hungry and I`m breastfeeding, so that is about every 2 hours.
The healing process is not that bad and after having both the caesar and natural, I cant really say which is better. Natural is just easier to deal with afterwards, which is really what you need because you need to be up every 2 hours running around and stuff.
I am enjoying every minute of him, Neil is at home this week and last week, and on Friday, I get to take my staples out. YEAH!!!
