Kael-Douglas`s birthstory

After 9 hours of what I thought was active labour (1 min 45 sec apart) , the nurse says my contractions slowed to 5 mins apart. So the ob comes in and tells me since there is no progression, I was only 3 cm dilated and the membranes were not breaking, she is sending me home! That for 9 hours I had been having a hyper active uterus. I totally freaked! I started to bawl and hyperventilate. She leaves me and my husband alone ofr about 20 min to `talk` and when she comes back I told her I wanted a c-section. She is upset, and tells me that she needs to talk to the head ob/c-section doctor. So he shows up an hour later (and I am still having contractions 5 min apart). He says well lets try to break your water and see what happens, and I am here so if the cord prolapses and you need an emergency c-section, I am right here. So he puts his hand in to check me and he says `wow, you are 6cm and 100% effaced`. My ob looks thunderstruck, because she hadn`t checked herself before, just talked to the nurse and told me to go home. So he broke my water, and my baby was born 2 hours later :) A bit of a nightmare, but so worth it! Total of 13 hours in active labour oh the joy lol.
