I started having contractions around 5:00pm on Tuesday afternoon. They were perfectly spaced about 7-8 minutes apart but didnt hurt. I timed them up until about 9:30pm when I got frustrated that they were just another bout of annoying BH. But ah-hah! I woke up at 2:00 am with stronger contractions! They were also spaced 7-8 min apart but got closer together and stronger with each contraction. I was trying to hold out on going to the hospital so that we could drop off my son at school. But by around 5:30am I had a few powerful contractions 3 minutes apart. I figured by then I should probably wake my son and boyfriend up and be on our way.

The three of us got to the hopital at 7:30am, checked in our room and I was only 3 cm. My boyfriend left at 8:00am to take my son to school and was back at 8:30. For that hour the contractions were just as they had been at home - painful but bearable. My boyfriend got back in the room, and 5 min later ...Oh boy!!... I had a really strong contraction that broke my water. Let me tell you, as painful as that contraction was, the water breakage in the middle of it was such a relief! So Miguel called the nurse in, she checked me and I was now at 6cm! In just one hour!!

After my water broke, the contractions were so strong and fast and painful and just....OUCH! By 9:00 or so I was completely dilated and ready to push. Three pushes later, he was born at 9:20 am. I couldnt believe how fast it went. And I couldnt believe the timing of everything!!

I planned to have my sister in the room with us during the birth but due to the pace of it, she walked in the room literally 1 minute after I pushed him out. She laughs and says "at least I was there for the afterbirth"!... Pretty funny.

I cant believe how much different this birth was from my first and really how much easier it has been. Although it has been 10 years since my first baby, nursing, diaper changing and just everything about caring for him is coming so much more naturally. I am so in love with him and cant stop looking at him and have a hard time just putting him down.

Keano-Alexander`s birthstory

I woke up at 1am with a painful contraction but wasn`t giving it too much credit cause I had been having timeable contractions for 11 days. Got up, went to the bathroom and back to bed. Five minutes later had another contraction. Next contraction was 4 minutes after that. I got in the shower and left my cell phone just outside the curtain so I could keep timing them. Before I even touched the soap, I had another one at 3 minutes so I knew then, it was time!! We got to the hospital at 2:30am with only about 1 minute in between contractions and he was born at 3:08am! I couldn`t believe how fast the labor went. He was out in 3 pushes. All 8lb and 12oz of him! I tore pretty bad and got at least 10 stitches. I came home at 4pm the same afternoon. I was more nervous about this delivery than I had been about the previous two because my first labor was so long and my second so short. I was afraid it could go either way. That, and I knew this baby was much bigger than my first two. But this was by far the fastest, easiest labor I could have asked for and my little guy is just perfect!
