Edwin-Thomas`s birthstory

On Friday, December 11th, I went to my OB appt. and found out I was dialated to a 3 and effaced 70%. After my appt in the late afternoon/evening, I started having bloody show. By late that evening, the contractions were a little stronger and consistent. I knew it was the real thing by 11:00 that night. I tried to sleep, but couldn`t because I felt I couldn`t breathe very well in bed. I got up for an hour or so and then tried to go back to sleep. By that time the contractions were hard enough so that I couldn`t go to sleep. I got up and breathed through them and took a bath scented with Lavender essential oil. After that, I walked around the house a bit and contractions were always 2-3 mins. appart. After about 3:00, I started feeling pressure on my bowels and started keeping a close eye on things. I called my friend and asked her some questions and after the phone call, the contractions got harder. During the contractions, I started sitting on an exercise ball which really helped. At about 4:30 a.m., I decided to wake my DH and let him know that it was time to go. It took almost an hour to get to the hospital including getting ready, so I thought it was right. Well, my funny DH wanted to drive to the hospital like there was an emergency. I wouldn`t stand for that, so he drove carefully and gently around the curves. When we got to the hospital the contractions were strong and coming quickly especially when I moved or walked. I walked into the delivery room and got set up and answered a whole bunch of questions. When they finally got around to check my cervix, it was already an 8! I was so excited! The doctor on call came and checked me an hour or so later and I was at a 9. She wanted to take precautions so, I was prepped to deliver in the OR....not the best place to deliver, but for the safety of the babies, it was best. It took me a while to dialate to a 10 and it was ever so painful especially on the operating table, but I finally did and I was glad to push. However, that was painful too. Edwin was born just fine and I was able to nurse him right away--what a great experience.

Gwyneth-Baye`s birthstory

The docors and many nurses kept a close eye on Gwyneth after Edwin came out due to the extra space after Edwin left. She was also in the vertex position and the doctor didn\'t want her to change. So, after Edwin was born, they carefully guided her externally down the birth canal and she was born just 5 short minutes after Edwin--healthy as could be. I also was able to nurse her shortly after she was born and in fact was nursing both of them on the operating table. I\'m so amazingly pleased at how this last birth went. I praise God that He kept all three of us safe and answered my deepest desire of how I wanted my last pregnancy and the birth to go.
