Cyrene-Elizabeth`s birthstory

We arrived at the hospital at 7:00 am for my scheduled inducement. We were settled in our L&D room around 8:00 am and they started the induction with a small pill placed next to the cervix. 4 hours later, not change and they inserted another pill around 12:00. Checked again at 4:00 pm and still little change so another pill was inserted. An hour later I got up to use the bathroom and my water broke! I could not believe how much fluid came out and it just continued to flow all the way up till delivery. I climb back in bed and called the nurses. My contractions started up and an hour later I had to ask for an epidural. Around 8:00 my Dr checked me and I was barely dilated. Grrr..... Started the pitocin and I was starting to think I would not deliver till the 20th. The pitocin really got things moving though. My contractions picked up and by 10:00 I had dilated to 7 cm. At 11:00 pm I felt pressure and the need to push. Dr and nurses arrived and set I was ready to go! I was so excited I was shaking!!! A nurse stood on either side and held my legs, my husband helped me curl my back up and I pushed for close to an hour. The Dr was going to have to use a vaccuum if I did not deliver soon - that seemed to give me the strength to push her out and at 11:53 Cyrene Elizabeth was born!!! They put her on my chest and the first thing I noticed was that she has a perfect miniature of my husband`s nose! LOL! She is healthy and gorgeous and such a good baby. Already sleeping through the night and eating lots and lots. Her father and I could not be happier or more in love.

Sara-Eve`s birthstory

Dr. had predicted this baby would come this weekend which was great cause she was on call. Thursday afternoon she did a membrane sweep but I was only at 1 cm. Friday morning got up and got into work by 7:00am. Sitting in my office working started getting strong uncomfortable contractions around 8:45. Didn`t think much of it but they started having a pattern so I started timing them - they were between 3-5 minutes apart. So I cleaned up my office, let my boss and colleagues know and headed back home. Got home called my Dr and she said to come on in since I was an hour away. My mother was watching my 2 yo daughter so they got dressed and drove me in to the hospital and my DH met us there around 12:30. Still having contractions roughly 3 minutes apart - still strong but not too bad pain wise. Was admitted and set up in a room and hooked up to the monitors. Over the next few hours I slowly progressed to about 4 cm dilated. The contractions were starting to hurt and Dr wanted to break my water so I got the epidural. My epidural with my DD was easy and wonderful, this time around getting the epidural KILLED my back - it was so painful. After it was in I uped the dosage a couple of times and made my legs etc completely numb. I was worried I would not feel it when the baby would come! Dr broke my water and they started me on Pictocin and that got me going. DH and I got to snooze for a couple of hours and then I started feeling pressure down there. I told the nurse and she went to get the Dr to check me, saying it wasn`t time yet cause I would feel the pressure more in my butt. Dr came in and checked me and said I was ready to go. They got everything set up and Dr put me on my back, lifted my legs and was about to tell me to push and then looked down and could see the baby`s head already! I almost delivered her on my own. Only took 5 pushes and she was here!
