Taelynn-Nea`s birthstory

16th June went for routine appointment at hospital, at this point I was already 5 days overdue. They did scan to check umbilical cord and also amniotic fluid… they found only 5cm of fluid which they usually recommended you have 25cm plus so doctor decided that I would be induced tomorrow. They checked to see if my cervix was softened which is was, so no need for the gel.

17th June arrived at hospital 6.45am to get induced was placed on CTG at 7.15am to monitor heartbeat for 1 hour.
Doctor came in at 8.00am to break water, unable to do so after 40 minutes so had to call and wait for head doctor to arrive to attempt to break again.
Head doctor came in at 9.20am to break water, finally they broke sac! No fluid came out (as my amniotic fluid was low) but they pulled hair with the hook from my little ones head so they knew the sac was broken.

was placed on IV for fluid and also took blood test etc at 10.10am
Was then left on monitors for another hour or so, in this time started contracting myself, like bad period cramps.
2.30pm doctor checked to see dilation and was already dilated to 5cm, was then placed on the drip with -Oxytocin to get labour started more.
Cramps started getting bad was then placed on exercise ball for about 40 minutes, but then was told to stay on the bed due to heartbeat not reading very well.
Then tried the gas, in which I didn’t like it made me feel out of this world and I refused to have it any more.
Contractions starting getting harder after they had to change level of Oxytocin as I was getting to much and contractions to close together and then not enough.
Eventually I asked for the epidural, I got this 10 minutes later after 2 attempts at 4.00pm, whilst in major pain from the contractions.
Then was checked to find out I was 10cm yay! They then said if they knew that before I would have not got the epidural (lucky me!) But they advised there was no time to hook me up to machine for top up of medication so epidural would wear off when I had to push!
I started to feel pressure between my legs, I didn’t know if this was due to the epidural, but it was the baby moving down. Was told within the hour my Princess would be here.
The pressure started getting bad and I had a feeling like I had to push as all I could feel was a real bad strong pressure down there.

The babies heartbeat started to drop, they then placed a monitor on her head to check heartbeat, then I had a room full of doctors and midwifes, all telling me to push as bub`s heartbeat was going down to 75bpm.
Starting pushing at 4.45pm after what seemed like a lifetime, at 5.35 pm my Princess arrived with help from the vacuum like object. Healthy at 5lb 14oz and length of 46 cm and her APGAR score at both 1 min and 5 min getting a score of 9, our little Taelynn Nea is now here.

After some nasty tears, and stiches internally and externally both top and bottom, and screaming at the doctor while stitching me up as I could feel what she was doing, and 5 local anaesthetics later I was done and enjoyed my little Taelynn with my family.

Even though it was painful then and I was extremely swollen and unable to walk, and in pain down there for the first 14 days I would never change it for the world. I love being a Mum and am so grateful for my little girl being healthy.
