Marleigh-Grace`s birthstory
I started having contractions on Sunday, 6/22. Nothing to rush to the hospital about though, so we went to the mall and walked around while my husband shopped for him some new clothes. I woke up Monday, 6/23 still having contractions. They weren`t regular, but were stronger. Monday night I decided to take a walk and the contractions intensified. So I then took a bath...and nearly came out of the tub the contractions were soooo strong. I laid in the bed for about 10 minutes. My husband was hesitant about taking me to the hospital since I had had some preterm labor pains, so he suggested that I take a Vicodin!!! Yeah right...like Vicodin would make them go away. We headed for the hospital and I was already 4cm, so I got to stay and get my epidural!! After 10 hours, I was fully dialated and ready to push! I pushed for almost 2 hours and they discovered that Marleigh`s head was transverse (sideways) instead of up and down and there was nothing to be done...I had failed to progress so my only option was a c-section. I was scare to death...especially since my epidural was wearing off on the left side a bit. And did I mention I had a fever of 102?!?! I was scared and felt like s%*t!!! The anesthesia people dosed my epidural...which then made me nauseated...and whisked me off to the OR. Since we were waiting to find out the sex, I was anxiously awaiting to hear that the baby was out so that my husband could tell me the sex. After some pulling and tugging...I hear the baby it out...and Shane tells me that it`s a girl...we have our baby girl named Marleigh! He was sooo excited!! I was glad everything went well...but I felt so bad, I barely got to enjoy the moment. We now have a healthy baby girl and mom is recuperating well.
