Macey-Kathryn`s birthstory

We checked into the hospital around 3:30 Monday, May 19. They started the cervadil all that night to soften my cervix...it got really soft by Tues morning and I was barely dialated to a 1, so the Dr came in and broke my water that morning and they started the pitocin...that was when the fun began..an hr or so into that I got my epidural...then it was much more bearable...So I was on that all day long. Keep in mind I had not eaten since about noon on Monday and I was starting to get a lil grouchy about that...so finally the Dr called and said they could shut off the pitocin for awhile and let me eat something and they would start it again around midnight..I was having really good contractions and Maceys heartrate stayed strong the entire time...so that was a relief to finally get a bit of food! It was quite funny the whole time since I had checked in they would get the heart monitor on my belly to track her heartrate and every time she would move..the nurses would take turns coming in trying to find her hearbeat again..lol..then she would always move..it was too cute it was like a game she was playing with them. Soooo anyways...they started the pitocin again around midnight and I got some sleep..they checked me again Wed morning and of course there was not a ton of change...I was barely pushing 4 cm...they dont like you to go too far past 24 hrs after your water has broke so they informed me I was gonna be having a c-section..I was pretty upset since I had already been in the hospital since Mon and I knew I would be there at least 48 hrs after the c-section but I was definitely ready to meet my lil girl! So they took me back to the OR sometime around 10 am I wanna say...at 10:28 am our beautiful lil girl entered the world..and she was absolutely perfect in every way!! Let me just say though C-sections SUCK!!! It was not a fun experience and the pain for the first two days was awful...now I know why they keep you so long there would be no way a person could function at home in that much pain. So finally Fri around noon we got to leave the hospital and bring our baby girl home. She is such a good baby and I feel very blessed...I did have what they call the "baby blues" for the first week and a half and could not stop crying I did not enjoy that but luckily I am feeling much more like myself again! Now I get to just enjoy this beautiful lil girl!!!

Well I went to the hospital and got checked in around noon..my c-section was scheduled for 2. They went through all the paper work and got my iv in and everything really happened pretty fast. I had some amazing nurses and my anestesiologist was the nicest guy ever..he did a great job keeping me entertained during my c-section. So finally they took my back to the OR at about 1:30 and started prepping me, and gettin my epidural in for the surgery. I kept asking for Joe (hubby) the whole time...they assured me they would bring him in before Carter came out..it is quite the task (or at least for me) to stay calm when strapped down and completely numb when you know they are cutting into your body..no matter how good of reason..so anways they actually had already started cutting into me before they brought Joe in, but I was thrilled when he was finally in there with me..so finaly at 2:30 pm our little..eh, or should I say BIG Carter arrived..I heard one of the nurses guess that he weighed eleven pounds..when my dr brought him around to show me I thought he looked like a little uncooked butterball turkey lol..he was quite the lil chunk..and LOUD..he was in a little room outside of the O.R .getting cleaned up while they still worked on me and I could hear him cry for the longest time..it truly is an amazing thing hearing that first cry. So finally Joe brought Carter in so I could get another little peek at him again. Finally they got done putting me back together and I finally got to go to my recovery room at about 4:30 and got to hold my baby for the first time..Joe finally told me the official stats: Carter Jospeh Dale Brown was 11 pounds 6 ounces and 22.5 inches long! No wonder I was misreable..he was huge! Lol...naturally all the nurses asked me if I had gestational diabetes (which i did NOT) and they had to check his blood surgars for the first few feeds..but he was absolutely perfect..just a big boy! Lol. He was so cute..I thought he looked so much like my brother...but nothing like I expected. He had reddish hair, and a dimple in his chin..and just so filled out. He is such a sweet lil guy. I can officially say I am thrilled he is here and as much as I enjoyed my pregnancy and feel so blessed to have been able to have my precious babies..Iam so happy this journey in my life is over..there will be no more babies for us. :) Now lets hope I can raise these two into some amazing people, Im feeling pretty confident!
