Aurora-Grace`s birthstory

After getting home from a concert at Midnight :), I woke up at 1:30 with contractions. They were getting pretty intense and so I woke Josh up at 2:30. I wasn`t sure if this was really it though cause I had had contractions like this at night that ended up going away. Josh suggested we get up and walk around so we went out to the front room. He started playing play station and I wandered around. He would stop playing and come over when I had a contraction :) We started timing them and they were basically about 4-5 minutes apart. Finally at 4:30 I made him call the midwife after a litle argument about whether or not I was in labor ( I won that one!) He told her that my contractiions were 5-6 minutes apart so she said to call back if they got stronger or if my water broke! So we went and laid down and they got stronger. I decided I wanted to get in the tub and I wanted him to call the mdwife back. this was about 5:00. He said no I think we should wait a little while longer and I started crying! So he called her and she said she would come over. I got in the tub till she got there. I got out then so she could check me and I was already 4 cm. So I kept walking around the house, sitting on the birthing ball. My friend Kali showed up about 8am. MW checked me again and I was 6cm. We figured out that when I layed down my contractions actually got stronger so I ended up in the bed on my left side. They were getting a lot stronger then and by 10:30 I was starting to moan and groan a lot. She checked me again and I was 8cm and fully effaced. My best friend Mindy called then and we told her and I started crying. I was in transition then and wanting to be in water! Especially after haveing 2 contractions right together! So after one I got up to go pee, and had a contraction on the toilet, thought I would die. I had to get to that tub! By the time I got over there I had to throw up! But that water felt so good! It totally helped me relax and also spaced out the contractions and made them a little less intense. I was only in there about 15 minutes before I decided if I was gonna have this baby anytime soon, I should probably get out. It was maybe 12 then and the next hour was so intense!!! I couldn`t have done it wihout Kali and Josh there. It was all I could do to keep it together! My water at this point was still intact but with some super strong contractions and me throwing up the water I had been drinking, my water finally broke. Things went quick then and by 1:30 I pushed her out. Pushing was crazy cause my body totally did it involuntarily. It hurt pretty bad but I remember having a nice long break during the pushing stage between contractions where I was just smiling thinking I`m gonna see my baby soon. So I pushed outher head and the cord was around her neck. The midwife clamped and cut it and I pushed out the rest of her and she was perfect!
