Jake-Thomas`s birthstory

My little angel decided to make his appearence 2 weeks early! Heres how it went...

I went to bed thursday night, wasnt very tired so started to read a book. At about 3am i started gettin twinges so i timed them for an hour.. the contractions were 15 minutes apart and quickly went down to 10 minutes. I rang the hospital at about 7am and they said my contractions needed to be 3/4 minutes apart for me to go in and they told me to have a bath and take paracetomol.

I then rang my mum to let her know i had started labor... so she could get over here from spain in time for the birth... or so we hoped.
After that my mate rang and i told her the news so she said i could go and sit at hers whilst she worked (shes a hairdresser) and then if my contractions got worse she could take me to hospital straight away. I went to hers about 10am and my contractions were 5 minutes apart. At about 1pm my contractions were stronger and were about 4 minutes apart. I rang the hospital back and told them i was in pain and wanted to come in so they said to come and get checked out.

At the hospital they checked me over - i was 1-2cm dilated. So they sent me home.
I went home with my 2 friends and let the father know that this was guna happen - today!
I had yet another bath and after about an hour or 2 i rang the hospital back to tell them i cudnt take the pain ne more and wanted pain relief! They told me to go back in.

When i got there they checked me again and i was 3-4cm dilated so the midwife ran a hot bath for me to calm my contractions a bit... personally i didnt think it would work. Thats when the father came down... he had to pour water over my back to try and move the position of the baby as he was back to back with me...

When i got out the bath at about 6pm the midwife put me on the good ole` gas and air... GREAT STUFF!! I recommend it to anyone!!!! I had the radio on and the music sounded really weird... but in a good way...

At about 7:30pm my contractions got stronger and the gas and air was just makin me tired and weak so the midwife checked me over.... she seemed quite shocked and said i was 8cm dilated!!! She kept me on the gas and air and i just lay there.. fallin asleep and wakin up with my contractions... then they got constant... she then broke my waters which was weird... before i knew it i was havin the urge to push... then all i remember is people coming in and out the room. Then the time came where i had to push... I give it my all every time but felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Then i was told they needed suction cuz the baby was gettin tired. Everyone was telling me i had to push with all my might cuz he was gettin distressed... and i pushed like ive never pushed before!!!! I could feel a burning sensation and i kept thinking id pooed myself (sorry tmi) but i hadnt... that was the head coming out! After a few more pushes, my beautiful boy was born at 21:23 and it was the most emotional experience of my life!

I was taken to another ward to go to sleep... im not guna lie i was sooo sore but just lookin at my beautiful boy made me feel a lot better!
I was in hospital from friday afternoon until tuesday night due to my iron levels. Im now home with my gorgeous little ray of sunshine Jake Thomas and im so happy all this is over with and i finally get to cuddle him!!!! :):)
