Jonathan-James`s birthstory

On Monday, Nov. 19, I had a doctor appt. My blood pressure was up again, and I was spilling protein in my urine. The doctors thought it would be best to induce me, and head off any potential problems...

So, off to the hospital I went. They gave me Cervadil, and I spent Monday night resting before our big day! They were going to induce me Tuesday morning at about 7:30 am.

I slept great that night... they gave me a sleeping pill. And I woke up ready for my big day! As I was getting out of bed at about 6 am to go to the bathroom, and shower... my water broke!! It gushed actually... I almost thought I had peed myself!! I called the nurse who confirmed that it was NOT pee... and she told me to shower and then they`d take me right to Labor and Delivery.

Well, a half hour later, my contractions started... and they hurt... but weren`t so horrible.. they were mostly in my back, though. I was most comfortable standing up... leaning on things. I kept asking for the epidural, but I hadn`t been seen my the doctor yet... so I had to wait. As soon as the doc got there, he checked me out.. I was at 4 cm... and he agreed to give me the epidural. YAY!! It was heaven!

I got the epi.. and stayed in bed the remainder of time! My labor pregressed on it`s on... so the `induction` never really happened!

When I got to 10 cm.. and the baby was in +2 station... I started pushing. 45 minutes later, out came our beautiful baby boy! He was screaming, and they immediately put him on my chest... Bob and I were both crying.... It was amazing!!

As soon as he was out... I couldn`t believe how `easy` it was!!
