The Pregnancy Story Of Lilly-Mae Smith

May 2008 - I Fount Out i Was Pregnant. Yay. For The Next 3-4 Months i Was Constantly Sick, Couldnt Eat, Couldnt Drink. It Was Horrible. I Was Hospitalised Twice Due To The Sickness. After The Second Time in Hospital The Sickness Pasted [Unless i Was Travelling, I Was Still Bascially Home Bound]

I Actually Didnt Go To The Midwifes Until I Was Something Like 23 Weeks Pregnant Because Of The Sickness. I did Have a Scan At 9 Weeks Though To Ensure I Was Pregnant When At Hospital.

For 23 Weeks My Blood Pressure Was High, So The Midwife Wasnt Sure if I Had Pre-Eclampsia Or Naturally High Blood Pressure. I Had a Scan At 24 Weeks. Kept The Sex a Surprise!

From About 30 Weeks I Really Began Enjoying My Pregnancy. The Kicks, The Movement inside My Tummy. It Was Great.

At 37 Weeks I Began To Get Really Ill Again. And Was Waking up Not Able To Breath And Throwing up. So My Partner Took Me To Hospital. They Did Blood Pressure Reading. It Was Extremly High, Protien In My Urine. I Defintly Had Pre Eclampsia. At 4amish They Let Me Go Home Bcus I Had Midwife Appointment At 9am Anyway.

Next Day I Was Back In Hospital. 14th January 2009. They Decided To Induce My As My Eclampsia Had Got Much Worse. Life Risking. They Gave Me a Sweep At About 1ish, At About half 1 They Broke My Waters, As Soon As That Happened i Was in a Lot Of Pain. Contractions Here There & Everywhere. IT HURT. I Had Two Epidurals. None Of Which Worked And so i Used Gas & Air Which i Thought Helped a Lot. Whilst All This Was Happening They Were Constantly Taking My Blood Pressure, And Taking Sample Of The Fluid Around "the Baby" Each Time She Was Losing Oxgyen. At 9:45pm The Decided I Needed To Be In Theatre AS Soon As Possible. So They Rushed Me Down To Theatre, We Waited 5 Mins For Them To Clean The Room As They Had Only Just Finished a C-section. I Was Then Given a Spinal Block. I Was Numb Very Numb. And Lilly-Mae Smith Was Born At 10:25pm By Emergency c-Section On The 14th January Weighing 7lb 7oz Measuring 52cm. She Was Gawjush. I Loved Her From The Moment i Saw Her. And When She Was Put On My Chest I Held Her And She Just Stared At Me... * I Will Never Forget That 5 Mins *

Soon Enough i Was Stitched up And Taken Into Recovery. I Was Constantly Monitored For The Next 24 hours. At About 6pm-ish Next Day i Was Up And Waking. Oh it Was Painful & Slow But I Was Getting There. I Had a Shower Whilst Rick Held Our Gorgeous Daughter, And My Catheter Was Took Out, Yay. I Hated The Bloody Thing Lol.. On The 16th About 7ish i Was Discharged From Hospital & Told To Take It Easy. I Went Home And Was Just So Happy To Have LillyMae Home, And Was Glad She Was Well Even Thou Just Over 2 Weeks Early. For The Next 8 Weeks I Had To Inject Myself Twice a Day To Stop My Blood Clotting. Taking Blood Pressure Tablets Twice a Day, And Take Iron Tablets 3 Times a Day And Sometimes Painkillers.

Thats My story. And i Would Do It All Again For My Gawjush Daughter
