Birth details

Type of delivery: Cesarean section
Duration of labor:
Weight @ birth: 9lbs, 6oz
Length @ birth: 20in

My cesarean section was scheduled for June 23rd at 8:00AM...4 days before my actual due date, the 27th of June. I had to arrive at Labor and Delivery at 6:00AM to be prepped for surgery. I had my IV and everything placed and was wheeled back to the surgery room where I received my spinal epidural. They do the spinal in the surgery room because it goes into effect a lot sooner than a regular epidural. While I was getting the epidural, it didn't hurt...all I felt was a tiny bee sting because Dr. Jones numbed it beforehand. I did, however, feel an electrical shock go down my left leg, which freaked me out. It went away though, as fast as it came. Anyway...after I received the epidural, I laid down and just waited for it to take effect. Dr. Garza pinched me really really hard and the anesthesiologist ask me if I could feel it, which I couldn't. The surgery started about soon after 8:00AM.. Madison was born at 9:04AM, FINALLY. She was a pretty good size baby and she was breech. She had her feet up beside her head and her butt was down. Dr. Garza had to pull Madison out by her hips.. they pushed and tugged sooooo hard on my belly and they FINALLY got her out. They pulled so hard to get her out, that on the way out Madi peed and pooped on them!!! :)

Madison was 9lbs, 6oz and was 20inches long!
