had a hospital app wed morn with the doc who swept me and told me i was 3cm and ready to give birth but he gave me an induction date anyway just in case i didnt go myself. so we got home at 1pm and i started to get little twinges about every 10 mins or so. my waters broke at 8 :10 that eve and after a mad dash to the hospital (we arrived at 8:45) niamh was born at 9:44! the labour was extremley quick and i hadnt time for any pain relief except a little bit of gas and air in the delivery suite. it was a great labour and i feel great, hardly any after pain!

well, i was admitted for induction on friday 26/03/2010 at 7am. they did a trace on baby`s heartbeat and checked movements, blood pressure, etc. at 8am i was taken to my room to wait to be brought down to the delivery suites and told i should be down there by 10am. however at 6pm that evening they still hadnt taken me, i was really upset with that but looking forward to the following day and because i had waited all day, i was first on the list to go sat morning.
sat morning i was brought down and they broke my waters at 10:20am and i was told if there was no progress within an hour i would be put on drip of syntcinon to bring on contractions. well nothing did happen in that hour! so i started the drip at 11:20am. they started me on 3 then turned it up to 6 as the contractions still werent strong. they started to get regular at that point and quite painful. so they said we would try 12. so we did and the pains were too strong and close together so it went back down to 6.
i had no idea in all this time of what time it was the pain was so intense. but i had said i wanted just gas and air so i managed with just that. it took 2 hours of being on the drip to give birth. it took a lot to push little conall out but he came in the end, no stitches or pain relief and i am very proud of myself :)
