Lily-Annalise`s birthstory

I arrived at the hospital at 8:00 on Sunday morning to be induced. I was given a cervix ripening pill followed by a foley bulb to help dialate my cervix. After the foley bulb fell out I was measuring 3.5 cm and I was having regular contractions. I was then given pitocin to speed along and intensify the contractions. When I reached 5 cm I asked for an epidural. Things got a little scary after that. The anesthesiologist bypassed the epidural space and accidentally and unknowingly entered the spinal space. I passed out and my blood pressure bottomed and my baby`s heartbeat dropped. I was given a large amount of ephedrin and taken off all drugs. The baby`s heartbeat came back up and I came around slowly. I was then completely numb from the waist down. I was eventually placed back on pitocin and the anesthesiologist adjusted the medicine so that I could feel what was going on, although my legs stayed completely numb. I delivered vaginally after 40 minutes of pushing at 10:28 on Monday morning. My little girl came out perfectly at 7lbs 15 oz and 20.5 in. I`ve never been more in love. :)
