Cadence`s birthstory

On Oct. 31st i had an appointment. During this appointment i found out i was still only 1cm dialated. The doctor decided to do another membrane sweep. It was the worst experience of my life and i think it even scarred me for life. I had one the previous week and it didn't hurt at all. That weekend i bleed and had cramps. I also noticed i was leaking fluid. All day sunday i walked, had sex, and walked somemore. I wanted that baby outta me. That night i called the on-call doctor because i was leaking even more. He told me if it wasn't a gush then i shouldn't worry about it. It wasn't gushing but i was changing pads every 20 mins or so. The next day i called the ob/gyn office and spoke to a triage nurse. I told her the same thing, that i was leaking and she told me to come in right away. My husband and i went to the doctors and she tested the fluid. The results came back negative. The doctor was really surprised. She thought i was leaking fluids too. She also checked to see if i had dialated anymore and i was 3cm. Just to be on the safe side the doctor did an u/s to check the fluids around my baby. Everthing looked great. I was then hooked up to a machine to check the babies movements. I had no idea but i was contracting 8 mins apart. Once i knew what i was looking for i started to count contrations that night. All night they were 5mins apart but didn't hurt at all. On tuesday they continued 5 mins apart. That night they dropped to 2-4 mins apart and began to feel uncomfortable. I called the doctor and she said that if it didn't hurt not to come in. I was pretty shocked because they were so close and she didn't want to see me. Wed. morning i woke to stronger contrations at 2-3 mins apart. I called the triage nurse and she told me to head to the maturnity ward. Once i got there at 9:00am i was hooked to a machine. The contrations came every 3-4 mins. The doctor came in and examined me. I was 4cm and the bed was soaked were i was laying. He said he was pretty sure my water had broken. I told him i thought it had broken Sat. and he seemed really concerned about it. The doctor admitted me which i was thrilled about. I was prepared for them to send me home. Hours passed and my mom and sister finally arrived after a 6 hour drive. The contrations came 4-5 mins. The doctor examined me again and i hadn't progressed so he decide to give me pitocin which i was dreading. I was only on it for about an hour. The contrations came on so fast and so strong. I had my husband kick our friends out because i didn't want them around as it hurt so bad. While he was walking them out i had a really bad contration come on. My mom and sister were there to help me through it. As i was in the middle of it i felt this sudden burst. It hurt so bad and i started to cry. I thought it was the baby but it was actually my water. The nurse then took me off the pitocin and checked me. I was 6cm. I was in so much pain that i asked for a little pain meds. I was given some through my iv. Now i put no pain meds because they did nothing at all. No pain was taken away. It didn't even take the edge off one bit. I felt everything. I kept feeling this urge to push but was told not too. It was so hard not to. I kept screaming i have to push so the nuse checked me again and i was 9cm. I went from 6-9 in an hour. I kept feeling this super strong need to push and so i did it anyways. The nurse checked again and i was 10cm. It went so fast. She called the doctor. I kept pushing even though she told me to wait for the doctor. I didn't care. When u feel that urge u have to do it. There is no stopping it. Finally the doctor got there and she was out in 45mins. It hurt but it felt good to push. I was so tired after that. She was born at 12:14am on Nov. 6th. I was in labor for 15hours. Because i went so fast my body had no time to prepare for the birth so i tore pretty good. I had a second degree tear and it hurt like hell. I was so swollen for weeks. I'm just glad all that is over with. Everthing went well but at the time it was scary. If u had asked me then if i wanted to go through it again i would have said "HELL NO!!!" but now i feel a little better about it. I'm so thrilled shes here now and i love her so much. She lights my world up.
