Michael`s birthstory

So we came to the hospital to be induced after going over my due date by 6 days... It was monday at 6 am when we arrived... I got induced at about 7 am... and contractions started about 7:30. They werent so bad at first... I was only dialated 1 cm the first hour or so, so they decided to use this thing...dont remember what its called, but it is placed inside of the uterus next to the baby and makes contractions much stronger and would measure the accurate strength of them.... when the doctor did this my water broke, I was only 2 cm at the time, but having steady contractions so they did it anyway... When my water broke it surprised the doctor and the nurse the amount of water I had... They said it was much more then normal, and thats prolly why he was so high up and had never really dropped... so two contractions later and i was in bad pain... the contractions were at 80 at this time and i thought that was high, couldnt imagine them getting much worse...the nurse said shed like to see them get to 85 before i could get an epidural... i was doing really good breathing through them tho, wasnt crying, just trying to relax. once they got to 85 the nurse gave me stadol to take the edge off, and it to me was the best thing ever, the first half an hour i had no pain, and i was just acting really weird... I was singing and laughing through contractions and i kept calling the contractions christmas trees...lol... and i kept calling mike squantoe... lol... It was pretty funny. Through the labor process i had Mike and my aunt and sisters in the room... it eventually just came down to my aunt and mike... Mike was tons of help through the whole process...and i dont think i could have done it without him there.... my aunt was awesome too... well after getting the epidural when i was further along, I only dialated to 8. I was progressing really well and then at 7/8 cm i stayed for about 3 hours. The epidural wasnt helping my left side by my abdomen or my back on my left side, and i felt like i was just getting stabbed over and over... by this time the baby had only dropped to the 0 station, and they said his head was facing sideways and kinda tilted that way... We tryed a few different possitions to change it but it wouldnt... So after still not dialating past an 8 at 5 am, the nurse brought up a c section... and i knew this was going to happen to me... dont know how, but i was telling everyone i could bet you it would happen that i would go through labor almost all the way and then have to have a c-section... well good thing i did... the c section was started at 5:30 and he was born at 5:53 am... 9lb 4 oz and 23 inches long... his pointer finger is half of my pointer finger! thats how big his hands are... and his feet are huge too... I heard the doctors talking over the curtain when he was pulled out and they were saying, holly crap, hes huge! I was expecting to see a big chubby cheeked baby with chubby legs, but hes not at all, he is very proportionate just very long. Im so glad to have it all over and have him here... and sooo glad that i have mike to help me...actually he is doing almost everything right now himself because of the csection pain... but i have gotten tremendosly better, every day i can feel a huge difference in the pain level decreasing... So i am doing more and more to help with the baby... Just got a quick minute to get on here to post this, but i gotta go, time to get baby Michael ready for bed... =)
