So i've finally got time while my Libby's asleep to post my birth story :)

Well on the 30th October at 41+6days pregnant i went to the hospital for my induction as planned. There was still no sign of Libby and i was a little disappointed that she hadn't arrived naturally. I arrived at 8:15am and they gave me the first tablet (vaginally) at 9:30am. I expected it to hurt (like the menbrane sweep did) but the midwife who did it was very careful and it was fine. She said that this first tablet could kickstart labour in a few short hours and if not then i'd be given another one approx 6 hours later. Me and my fiance Dave decided to try and get things moving ourselves by going for a walk around the hospital and carpark. Then i had bounce on the birthing ball as well. Well 6 hours later there was still no signs, my little angel really didn't want to come out, lol!

I was given the next tablet at about 4:00pm, and went for another walk around the hospital carpark again, feeling really desperate to start something off! Getting the second tablet put in was very painful because the midwife was really rough :(

Anyway at 7:00pm i was having yet another walk outside when i started to get contractions that were quite strong. I went back inside to the ward and the contractions continued getting closer together and stronger over the next few hours. By 10pm i was in a lot of pain and was given gas and air which took the edge off it slightly. I was examined and was only 2cm dilated. Soon the pain was getting very strong again and i was given a shot of pethedine at 11pm and tried a warm bath. I was examined again and was still only 2cm and was gettin desperate for the epidural because the pain was getting worse quite quickly. By 1am the contractions were unbearable and i was in agony with the gas and air seeming almost inaffective by that time. I was examined and i was 3-4 cm dilated and was wheeled down to labour ward. At around 1:30am i was given the epidural and it was such a relief! I really cannot reccomend it enough! The pain did not disappear but it was just a mild discomfort that i experienced, and despite thinking that i wouldn't be able to feel contractions or know when to push, i did. From 2:00am-7-am i managed to doze on and off thanks to the epidural taking away the worst pain, and during this time the midwives put me on a machine to give me stronger contractions because i wasnt [rogressing very much from 4cm. At 7:30am i woke up with the contractions getting stronger again and by 8am i was fully dilated, 10cm!

The midwife told me to start pushing at 9am and after a lot of difficulty and truly thinking i couldn't do it, Libby Jessica was born at 10:06 0n 31st October 07 weighing a huge 9lbs 10oz. My little Halloween baby! :)

Although i followed the midwifes instructions when to push i tore badly and have a 3rd degree tear because my little minx decided to bring both her shoulders out at the same time and with great force! I was in a lot of pain straight after she was delivered so i didn't hold her but went straight down to theatre where i was stitched for an hour.

After being monitered and spending some time in recovery, i was finally reunited with my beautiful little girl and fiance at 1pm that afternoon. I spent a night in the hospital and on the 1st November we arrived home.

I'm still in pain and can't sit down but i have antibiotics and lots of painkillers, plus a very loving family around me :)

Libby is now almost 3weeks old and worth every minute of pain i had. I love her so much!

So thats my birth story, sorry if it sounds a bit traumatic, lol i'm sure everyone else will have a better experience than me! x
