Franki`s birthstory

I woke up at 4am on Friday 30th May and thought i had a bit of back ache but it was nothing to bad so i went back to sleep till about 7:30 am. When i woke i told lee that i was sure i had been having contractions, we laughed about it as i thought maybe i had been dreaming! I wasnt! My hips back and front were still hurting in waves about 7 mins appart (pain wasnt to bad just slight period pains) so i told lee to go to work as itd prob be nothing and even if it was labour then presumed i wouldnt be having him for ages and ages! However i went to the toilet and lost my plug LOL hahaha couldnt believe it! I panicked a bit and rang the midwife she said `it sounds like ur plug...this could happen weeks before birth.` Then i went all quiet and she asked what was up...i was like; `im havin a contraction and have been since about half 4 this am i think.` I told her how far appart they were and she said that if they get closer then to ring back and go in. To be honest i was still in denial that it wasnt actually labour! I rang Steff my brothers girlfriend who is also a midwife, tried to call my mum just to warn her that she might need to get here as she lives quite far away.
I was still able to speak on the phone and steff said she would come over soon as and listen in to baby to make sure he is ok and she also said that i should prob get lee back from work as this was it......i was reluctant to but just didnt wanna get him back if it was a false alarm!
The girls were sat in the room eating their coco pops and watching cartoons (bless them) so i decided to have a relaxing bath as the last time i had a similar pain a bath seriously sorted them out. I got in the bath and continued to have contractions i think at this point they were about 5 / 6 mins appart and not lasting very long but i was having short ccontractions in between....i dunno how i managed it but somehow i managed to shave me pins and wash my hair...talk about getting my priorities straight!!
So when i got out the bath the pain had got worse, i managed to go upstairs and bang some clothes on, somehow (god knows how) managed to dry my hair and i even attempted to put some make up on......which turned out to be a pretty pointless act cos within mins of putting mascara and eyeliner on it was half way down my cheeks as i was wimpering throught he contractions with a few lil tears rolling down my cheeks!
Lee`s mum rang and asked if this was it and i said `yer i think sssssoooo` (again i didnt want her to take the girls to hers if there was no need!!) So she sent lee`s sisters and his dad to come collect holly n emmy as it couldnt have been good to see me in that much pain. Mind you by this point they were still oblivious to what was going on but they were picking up on a bit of my pain as they were getting a bit fractious and squabbling a bit n i needed to concentrate on the pain!
Steff came in and said `Leanne your definately in labour, compared to how you was half hour ago on the phone` i was like `riiiggghht ok you lot best take the girls then`
Then i got undressed again and sat on the toilet cos i couldnt get comfy gripping the work surfaces....Lee had just walked in the door from work and put the bath on for himself i was like `just hurry up in there!`
Between the contractions i was actually ok, i was able to talk normally and have a laugh it was just when they came i turned into a different person lol and just needed to focus!
I asked steff if i should have some pain killers and she said that there would be no point as it probs wouldnt touch me however she did say to ring the midwife back as contractions were quite close...about 3 in ten mins. So i rang her and she said she was expecting me to ring back told me to get me bum in.

It was quite strange standing in the strret on a friday at half ten having contractions lol people must a thought i was a proper weirdo, i got in the car with lee and was having a right good moan n scream...steff followed us in her car. Me mum was on her way aswell.

Got to the hospital and they had got me a room ready (it was sooo sureal) , the midwife checked my cervix and i was 6cm lol couldnt believe it! I got on the gas and air and continued using that as my only form of pain relief, it was amazing!

I felt fully in control and it was nothing i expected, after having the girls and not remembering a thing i wanted to know what was going on this time round. Steff had to go as my mum turned up with her camera ( pics will be on soon!).....

My cervix wouldnt fully dilate, i had an anteria lip or whatever its called......and baby was at an angle but i was determined to get him out! My midwife had to tell me to stop screamin n to focus on pushing which i did....as she held my cervix back i felt his head come down and a few more pushes later his head was out....then another big push his body was out. It was absoloutly the most amazing thing i have ever experienced....the pain was shocking but worth every single minute.

The midwifes were also great as one of them had my waters all over her and blood and some baby poo...she really got splattered!

Lee was fantastic aswell bless him....its bought us even closer (if thats possible) and he was stood there crying his eyes out, our little boy is so beautiful i cant believe he is here!
