Elijah-Jordan`s birthstory

I went to the hospital to be induced on March 15, 2008 at 6:30am. I was checked into my room about 7:00am and hooked up to an iv and the labs were taken. Then then checked my cervix and said that it was a favorable cervix for the induction as I was 3cm and 50% effaced. They then hooked my up to the monitors and noticed that I was already having contractions every 6 to 8 minutes. At about 8:30 or 9:00 I cant remember they started the potecin and 4ml which is the lowest dose and it was supposed to go up every hour. Needless to say they never needed to up the potecin I went into labor and 2 hours later I was 5cm dilated so the doctor broke my water bag and I could feel the baby start to drop. Well I waited a little bit and the pain got so unberable I called for the epidural which I must admit I was scared to death to get but at that point any pain was better than what I was feeling. So once he got the epidural in i layed back down and I was still feeling the contractions. I then started to feel pressure so i called for the doctor he came in and checked me and what about I was already 8cm dilated and completly thinned out so in another hour I would not have needed the epidural anyway. Well 30 mins later I was complete and they wanted me to start pushing welll I was so numb from the epidural I could not tell if I was pushing right or not but after about 8 good pushes Elijah Jordan came ino to the world crying, kicking, and screaming. He wighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and he was placed right on my chest he was just what I thought he would be. Well we stayed in the hospital for one day as I had no tears rips or anything plus I have done this a few times and today we are back home. Other then the pain in my back from the epidural, the soreness below no tears or rips, and the uterus contracting from breast feeding we are good ladies. So my labor was really like 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
