James Donovan Sex: boy Born: 14 August, 2010 Age: 1 years & 186 days Birthday in: 179 days Starsign: Leo Development: See the 18 months page. Biggest achievement so far: - |
James was born at 4:08pm. I noticed that I was leaking a little fluid at 5am, and it was only when I rolled over in bed or made any major movement, so it wasn't a steady leak. I called my OB and she said to wait it out to see if it kept happening. By 6am, I had gone through 3 pairs of panties and I determined that it wasn't urine. My DH was at work, so I called him, he got home about the same time as my father in law showed up to watch my 2 year old... I was still in my pajamas I guess you can say that I was in a little bit of denial. :) We get to the hospital at 8am (1 1/2 hour drive). I get into labor and deliver triage and they check the fluid to see if it was my water. The RN said that I had what was called a high leak, that it was amniotic fluid, but my break was up higher and the babies head was keeping my waters in more or less. My OB had me admitted but I was instructed to walk for an hour before I got to my room. Around 11am my OB came into my room and finished breaking my water. I started my pitocin drip at 12pm, got my epidural a little after 3pm and my little man was born at 4:08pm. Labor and delivery was extremely easy... I think the hardest thing for me was getting my IV. I had to have 2 different nurses try it because they said that I was 'valvy'. I guess the veins in my hands are less than desireable for IV insertion... needless to say, that part hurt like hell. Today my little James is almost a month old and he's doing great. He eats like a monster and he still has his days and nights mixed up but he's great...
