Josiah-Thomas`s birthstory

On Sunday June 22 I started to have contractions. So Alan and I decided to do everything that the Dr had told us to do. I would walk and then get a contraction and do that for a little while, I would lay down and still get contractions, and I would sit and still get them. Finally around 11 pm I said ok Alan lets go. So we ate something quick and headed to the hospital. I got there and had still been contracting off and on. They checked me and I was now 3cm dialated and 80% effaced. They said we can put you into a room and see what happens by morning. So we did that. By morning I hadn't progressed any more so they finally decided to put me on Pitocin which is suposed to help you contract and to help things along. I had told them I am not going home this time with out my baby lol. Well they started that and another Dr came in and said ok well you are now around 4 cm so lets break your water they did that and MAN OH DAY!! WOW! They took my blood and we talked about if I wanted an epideral or not. I said I wanted to try it as natural as possiable but I am not putting it out of my mind. So the contractions kept coming and coming. They came back in the room and said we are not able to give you any type of epideral because your blood platelets are really low. By now I am having contractions about a min apart. They checked me again and said ok we are going to take you off the Pit and see how everything works out. By then I was already in labor for 4 hours. I was to a 5cm and 95% effaced. my contractions kept coming. They were really bad and I said can I have something to just take the edge off so they gave me something in my iv which made me drowsy and sleep in between my contractions. They checked me again in an hour and said you only have progressed one more cm they said lets see what happens from here. So I was still there in pain. They came in 2 hours later and I completley stoped progressing. I only made it to a 6 cm and I wasn't going to make it any further. She said we are going to do an emergency c section. I was scared half to death! I never in my wildest dreams though that this is how it would go. After 6 hours of being in labor and I still had to go in for surgery. They got me all ready and with in an hour I was headed down to the OR. I could not have a spinal tap or an epideral so they had to put me completley under. My poor husband was soo scared he said everything will be ok he gave me a kiss and in I went. I prayed to god so hard that everything from there would be ok with our little Josiah. Next thing I knew I was waking up and I was inside my room again. I had to have 2 2pints of blood put back into me because I had lost 1/3 of my blood! They told me I would never have been able to deliver him vaginaly. He was just too big and my body was telling me that.
