I went in to start the induction on the 12th of March. They gave me the `pill` that they insert into the cervix to help make it more favorable for delivery. The next morning at 7am my doctor came in and started me on the pitocin, then an hour later he came back and broke my water. My contractions came hard and FAST!!!! I lastd until 11:45am, then I was pleading for the epidural! I got the epidural at around 11:50am and felt IMMEDIATE relief =) I was able to sleep for a few hours and felt barely anything, but the contractions were always on top of one another. At 8pm I kept telling my mum that I felt hot, so the nurse came into check my temperature and I was at 105 degrees. Kylan`s heartrate began to escalate (up around the 190 mark) because he was tring to fight off the fever inside me. My doctor then came at around 8:15pm and advised to me that due to the circumstances I would have to have an emergency c-section. They don`t know why I started running a fever all of a sudden, but they did the c-section because they didnt want to risk infection or anything with the baby. I went in to the surgery room around 9:15ish(???) (it`s honestly quite a blur to me) then they prepped me for surgery. The whole procedure took about 15 minutes I think...it went very fast!! Kylan was born healthy at 9:50pm, weighing 8lbs 12oz and was 20 3/4` long. Throughout the surgery I just remember A LOT of pressure and tugging, no real pain. But I did have a reaction to some of the antibotics and medication they had me on and I just couldn`t stop shaking, it was absolutely uncontrolable. But my anesthesiologist was WONDERFUL =) He and my mum talked me through the whole thing. At the end of the surgery the worst part was I felt nauseous and I actually threw up while I was on the table being stiched up...that was REALLY uncomfortable. After surgery both me and Kylan started running a really LOW temperature, so they took him to the nursery and put him under some heat lamps and I went to recovery an recieved more medication. An hour or so later he was absolutel fine, which was a HUGE relief to me!! I had an extremely fast recovery and was walking around the next day. I stayed 2 nights after the surgery and went home. And we are living happily ever after!! haha
