waters broke at 0500, went into hospital. Gradually dilated throughout the day and had a drip put up to give me contractions at about 1530. Also had my waters broke ( the bits that hadn`t broken natually ??!!) then the midwive did a sweep at 1740, instanty started contracting. Had a bit of gas and air, after about 4 contractions I started pushing. Pushed for 30 - 35 mins. No stitches a slight graze which has now virtually healed.

Despite being small Jack required no resusitation and was a lovely pink colour. we had skin to skin contact imediatly and he breast fed withing an hour.

Wow what a dramatic entrance my little one made to the world! I had a sweep on the thursday afternoon. Had a couple of twinges that evening but it all stopped. Friday night went to bed as normal - did feel a bit weird though, headache, ratty, loose bowels. At 0210 on the saturday morning I woke up and had a slight pain, thought it could be wind. Tried to sleep but kept having mild pains, which kept reacurring but were irregular. After 1/2 and hour called the hospital they said to wait an hour and see what happens. 3 mins later had a really strong pain and my water broke! So my parents were called to come and babysit (they only live a couple of doors away). But as soon as my waters broke things happend really fast, contractions every 3 mins getting stronger and stronger each time. Called my mum and dad said for to run around and that baby was coming very quick! My hubby was in a state was asking should he call an ambulance or drive me - I was like - I dont know!!??!! Anyway we quickly got in the car, not dressed soaking wet with the broken waters everywhere. Drove quite fast, after 5 min the contractions were starting to push baby down and i could feel the head crowning, I used every muscle in my bum and stuff to try not to push as we were miles away from anyway in the country in the middle of the night. Eventually I saw the bright lights of the hospital - I finally I felt a little safer. Suddenly my car was surrounded by midwives and people, a slightly older midwife popped her head into the car and said `right open your legs......errrr lets get you in a chair......NEXT AVAILABLE FLAT SURFACE GIRLS`! Within minutes the baby came out - I hardly had to push, just twice it as like my body just did it all for me. My darling Jasmine came into the world healthy and well, and so was I - just a little shocked! Jasmine is absolutely beautiful and worth every bit of panic and pain. I was so convinced labour would be slow and painful and wasn;t expecting a fast rapid intense delivery - Just be aware ladies they do come quick sometimes!!
