Kael-Jude`s birthstory

Well it was March 8th around 5 pm and I started having cramps only they were through my back and belly. I tried not to get my hopes up and just went about my business. About an hour later I started having my bloody show and that lasted for the next 6 hours. Started timing my contractions around 8 pm and they were 4 minutes apart and one minute long. They were getting a little more intense but I didn`t want to assume it was labour just yet...I wanted to wait to see if they got to 3 minutes apart. So at midnight I decided to lay down and try to sleep on the couch...my boyfriend and my dad were watching a movie. As soon as I layed down my water broke ...and it was a big one. So I jumped off the couch...my boyfriend and father were on their feet in seconds scambling around the house getting ready to take me to the hospital. Once my water broke contractions got way more intense and closer. Got to the hospital around 12:30 (but remember it was really 1:30 because at midnight the time changed and went forward an hour) By the time I got to the hospital my contractions were getting realllly bad. They put the moniters on me and checked my dilation...I was 4 cm. So they put me in a room and gave me a shot of demerol. They wouldn`t give me an epidural because I was contracting every minute and they were huge...so they figured I would have the baby fast. After 4 hours of the worse contractions (way worse than with my daughter 15 years ago) I was 10 cm and ready to push. Push like nobody`s business for about an houre and a half...baby didn`t budge...and I was really worn out from the demerol. They had me in every postion imaginable...even had me pushing on the toilet...but he wouldn`t come down. But since he was in no distress they allowed me an epidural so I could rest. Oh my god...what a relief!!! I had five crazy contractions while they were putting in the epidural but when it was done I could actually focus and think again. No more pain. So I napped for 2 hours then woke up to try to push again. This time I got in a squat postion hoping gravity would do something. I couldn`t feel my contractions so I let the monitor tell me when to push. After about 20 minutes they lowered the epidural dose so I could feel just a bit of my contractions to push. About 10 minnutes later I could feel the head near my opening...so the nurses checked and sure enough his head was ready. Doctor came in...and I pushed for another 20 minutes and my beautiful boy was born. I am so grateful for my little guy..he is absolutely gorgeous and the love I feel is indescribable. I never thought I `d ever have another baby..it had been fifteen years for me. He is my little angel. Good luck to you all ladies. Enjoy your Bundles of joy.
