Audrey-Hope`s birthstory

She arrived 01/23/09 (my mother in law's birthday) at 10:39pm- vaginally. She was 8lbs. 2.2 oz. and 20 inches long - a FULL head of dark hair (sticking up like "Shark Week!!") and blue eyes. She is wonderful!

My water broke at 10am-ish - our black lab woke me up 2 min. before it broke (I swear she knew!) - I had no contractions until about 1-2 hours later at L and D. Then they were full swing - every 3 min.

BUT I was only 2cm dialated and she was still very high up! I got the neubane for pain and the epidural. After they put the epidural in - only my left side went numb - I still felt everything in my right side. So they laid me on my right side and the Dr. came back in to push more of the medicine - that was the last thing I remember of this because it made my blood pressure drop to 34/25 and the baby's heartrate to 60!! I passed out and remember nothing of what happened next - but according to my husband it was horrible and he was shaking/scared. I woke up later with a foley in and another IV in my other arm and very upset. They had to prepare for a c-section - but luckily they got my BP up and the baby's heartrate up.

Contractions were now about 2 min. apart. and I was still making little progress so they strated to the Poticin - Then I was 6cm dialated with no pain or discomfort. Soon I was 10 cm dialated and the Dr. stopped the epidural so I could start pushing... YIKES.... can you say PAIN!?!?! OMG!!!!! I was pushing for over a hour straight with no success and I was so upset and in so much pain. They started to set up for an c-section since everytime I went to push the baby's heartbeat would slow down and I would have to go on O2 between contractions and lay on my left side - and because the baby just wasn't coming down on her own and with me pushing. We had to wait for the Dr. - during this time I stopped pushing~ and sat up crying in pain~ little did I know that would do the trick...

That tiny time I sat up not pushing let the baby drop and long behold - 15 min. later little Audrey Hope was born into this world vaginally! Unbelievable! (and I can't lie... VERY OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you say I got a BIG tear that required lots of stitches and 4 hemmroids from pushing!?!?!)

But there was this little life - with this full thick crazy head of dark hair and big blue eyes - she is perfect and wonderful and I am so smitten.

She is named after my Mom who died when I was 12 - we found out I was pregnant in May - on what would have been my mothers 66th birthday and were told we possibly conceived Mothers Day weekend... and little Audrey was born on my Mother in law's birthday... LIFE IS GOOD!

Adalynne Faith (Addie) decided she didn't want to wait for her due date of November 11th - she came October 27th at 11:17am - after 12 hours of contractions and about 35 minutes of pushing. She was born vaginal and she is adorable - so tiny! And so sweet. A gift and a blessing. So lucky. xo
