Mason`s birthstory
My son deciede he wanted to come 2 weeks early. I started having contractions at 8pm on Wed night about every 10min apart for about 1.5hours. Then they started getting closer. I ended up going to the hospital at about 11:30pm because they were every 5min. (on they way there they were every 2 min). Once we got there they hooked me up to the monitors in triage and checked me. I was only 1cm with barely any effacement. So they sent me home to labor there. They basically didn`t want me there until my contractions were 2-3min apart for 2 hours. (good thing I went later when I did because they never reached that)
So I came home and had contractions all night ranging anywhere between 3-6min. I maybe got an hour sleep total. Finally at 7 am I woke my husband up to have him help me walk up and down the hallway to see if that would help. My contractions started coming every 2-3min standing and every 4-5min sitting. So I called my doctor and he advised me to go the hospital to be re-evaluated.
Once I got back to the hospital I was only 2cm dialated however my cervix was about 75% effaced now. So my awsome doctor and nurse decided to admit me and stick me in the jacuzzi tub hoping it would make me relax enough to progress me. OMG it was amazing. After an hour I got out and was given some stadol to take the edge of and help me sleep. I woke up to some bad news that my contractions had slowed down back to 5-6min apart sometimes 8min. I was really upset and scared that they were going to send me home. However once I woke up they came back to every 3-4min. My nurse checked my cervix and I was almost 5 now. YEAH
About an hour later I was given another dose of stadol to help me sleep but once I woke up from that My contractions were every 2min and extremely intense. The doctor came in and said they were going to break my water however they would do that after my epidural but i had to wait about an hour. If it wasn`t fo rmy amazing coaches. (my mom, dad, and husband) I don`t know what I would have done.
The aneasthesiologist came in about 7:00pm ( the only time i actually remember) to place the epidural. They then checked me and I was 7-8cm so they then broke my water. I fell asleep and woke up about 10. I was ready to start pushing by 11:00pm
However my contractions once again slowed down when it came time to push. They ranged from every 3 to every 8min, instead of the normal 2-3 min apart. So I pushed for an hour and at 12:05pm my son was born.
